My National Pro makes a great rider & it is one of my most favourite old school bikes. The bike handles excellent on the track. Just wish I had one BITD.
COASTY
Sweet build benny. That looks awsome.
QuicksilverBMX

NICE! National Pros are my 2nd favorite race bikes of all time! I am currently restoring one myself as well.

I like the bars! Don't see those often....
waza007
Its even better in the flesh than in the pics!!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Waza glad to see you came good on the tip.

Reece I can't help myself but ride this bike its great.

Bedlam you must post your National Pro asap can't wait to view your bike.

Very nice build! You should add some kind of brake reinfocements because as I remember the brake bridges cracked really fast bitd.

Cheers

Hi Oliver, thanks for the advice.

Nice looking National Pro, Benny!
here's a pic of mine from back in the 80's- Candy Blue.
and a frame I have now, waiting to be built.
rumblerdave
By the way, how long is the top tube on your National Pro? The frame I have now seems very short, even though it's labeled as a "long" model.
When I got my blue one BITD, I was moving up from a Mongoose, and the Nat Pro seemed huge compared to the Goose.
bennyg
Rumbledave my National Pro is 18/5 from center of head tube to center of seat post. I purchased the frame & fork as a long model. It rides totally different to my Supergoose because of the geometry. As a matter of fact you can't compare the National Pro to the Supergoose it leaves the goose for dead.

Blue National Pro? I've seen this picture in another thread. Rare colour I never realised they came in
blue.

The National Pro frame thats waiting to be built is a sweet deal looks as if its been show chromed or is it nos?

Please post again once you have completed the build. Cheers

I want those pads also! Too bad the seller is REALLY shady. I wouldn't give the dude .05 cents for them. Oh well....

I had 2 National Pro's BITD. I loved those bikes probably my 2nd favorite of all time. I had a chrome one and a painted one. I used to switch back and forth between the two.

bennyg that is a sweet looking ride with the tuffs. I had graphites I used to put on for indoor races...

You have to go on a picture hosting site first. Try photobucket.com, it's good and simple. You submit your pictures on this site, from your computer. Then in the Fully Reply Form of vintage, you type images, and, in the box, copy and paste the picture url from the picture site. That's it.
bennyg
Tone, your the man mate that is one nice lot of National Pro bmx hardware.

Photobucket.com is a great site to use for photos, highly recommended.
bennyg
Whitey, the bike is a real treat to ride smooth as silk. Besides the chrome what colour was your other National Pro?
SANDER
I found my National•Pro a few months ago, it had been stored inside(!) by the guy to whom I sold it too about 20 years ago! The bike was exactly as I sold it... ...about 20 years ago...
bennyg
Thats cool Sander post a picture of it please.
SANDER
Can't find it! Will do my best!
whitey
bennyg, Every color. white, black, red, blue you name it. I would ride the chrome one and paint the other one. Ride the painted one for awhile, get bored switch to chrome and repaint.

I found a picture of it when it was raw and had a clear coat over it. (Ronnie Anderson style). I loved this bike!

I am looking for a set of NP bars and a NP seatpost - anyone got any for sale?
MarkinNaples
I have a National Pro frame and forks with a seatpost stuck in it and a tiny, tiny crack from where the seat post is stuck at the top (probably about 1/16" or so.

PM or email me @ markinnaples@comcast.net
