TOMG, Yes #41p is Kenny Pascoe, and you may be right about the #1 rider being Charlie Goodrich. Back in 84 and 85, Columbia gave out co-sponsorships for the #1 riders. Both Kenny and Charlie were offered, and Charlie took the opportunity but Kenny didnt ride the bike or gear. This is Guilford, CT which was an awesome track. #75 is my brother Al Neubauer.

Thanks for the memories.
Dennis

Here's some Guilford for ya, from 1982:

First turn 14 over open, me #3, Mike Patrick 7 is in here too (mustve slipped a pedal)

I raced there in the mid-eighties for the NBL nationals held there every year, nice smooth track, typical NBL track in the eighties, not very technical and better suited to the power riders....cw did a freestyle promotion with dizz hicks and ceppie mayes the one year, got the whole thing on video, at lest my dad got it on video.....great memories at that place.....eric rupe and travis (cant think of his last name) did a cover shoot there for the cover of bmx plus one evening after the racing.....they had this pong that every one would always swim in...as always the good ole days of racing

Guys check out the Mid West regional post here from Waukegan BMX. That is the track that I am the Track Director of and we had a great race. BMXNOW.com has all of the photos posted.

Dennis, I'm glad you liked the picture!

Tomg, thanks. I didnt get there much but Guilford was one of my favorite places to race. the track flowed and i loved the starting hill/first straight and the drop offs. plus the compitition was the best in the 80's when it was 17 and over ex. thanks again.

Good point. If I did not have to buy an NBL license I might venture out Southtown way.

Maybe we can meet halfway, set up some cones and race in an old Walmart parking lot!

When do you guys race? Friday nights? I would love to check it out sometime.
kjladd1
Friday at 8:00 pm but usually the gate doesn't drop until almost 8:30 beacause it's the like first time they ever ran a race. By the time the mains are done it's after 10:00pm with a moto count around 20 so you may want to get a room. They run things very slow for so few motos. Registration ends at 7:15pm.

20 motos is solid, it must be nice to get a little rest between races. How close is the track to UB, my wife is taking classes there on Friday nights? How many older (39) cruiser dudes you get typically?

Eric

The track is about 25 minutes from UB. The only cruiser class has been 40-44 and we've had anywhere from 2-5 riders. There is no racing today due to a state qualifier this weekend. I will not be there the next couple of weeks due to my sons hockey tournaments in Canada. If you r going to come out give a shout.

Steve,

I remember seeing pics of your track somewhere. I recall it looking pretty sweet, I will definitely take you up on that offer if I am ever out your way.

Got my 11 year old part-time racing daughter to balance on the gate tonight for the first time, what a difference. I think she was a little mad I did not let her race at the national.

Take care and good luck the rest of the season.

To anybody here is a news release from channel 8 in rochester:

One man is under arrest, accused of shooting his friend inside Hot Shots Volleyball Club on University Avenue.

Rochester police were called to Strong Hospital Thursday where a man was dropped off. 44-year-old Victor Wilson had been shot in the chest. His injuries are serious.

His friend (and the suspect in the shooting), 44-year-old Jose Correa, was stopped by police on East Main Street. Police did find a handgun inside.

-Everyone please keep our friend Victor in their prayers that he comes out of this OK. We have no more info on this beyond what was said there.

I went and saw Vic yesterday.
He is still in ICU but he was looking a ton better Saturday compared to Friday. He has one more surgery to go, and then he has a long recovery road after that.
I will keep everyone posted.

I just call back home to see if anyone knew anything. My sister goes out with Vic and the crew. I hope all is well for Vic.

Per Dave James this morning:

Vic is getting better every day. He is still in ICU but they hope to have him closed up by the weekend and moved into a regular room by the weekend.

He is still on a breathing tube so he cannot speak but he can make eye contact and squeeze your hand to communicate. He is having trouble breathing on his own and is still in a lot of pain.

Stay tuned for details on a potential fundraiser for he and his family.

I moved this over to the Cool Tool Topic

Hello, my name is Ryan Malinchak, I wanted to let members of the forum know that one of our own, 'BMX924' aka Victor Wilson was involved in a shooting here in Rochester, NY and was left in the hospital in trauma having to have a kidney, his spleen, and pancreas removed. He survived the injuries, but has been in an induced coma for nearly a week now while the doctors make sure that there are no infections or problems before they can close him up. He will be going in for more surgery this Thursday. He will be out of commission for some time and has a long road to recovery ahead. We will be setting up a collection fund for anyone who would like to help his family to cover the ensuing medical costs. I will post information once it is set up. If anyone wants to send cards, etc. email me below and I can give information to send them to so he will get them. Please send your thoughts and prayers out to him for a speedy recovery.

Thank you in advance

Just trying to keep everyone updated. Here is a post from Ryan.

Here is the flyer that was sent around locally. If anyone wishes to make a paypal donation, I am accepting donations on behalf of Vic that will be brought to Towners Bike Shop. Email me for info. Rcmalinchak@gmail.com

Friends,

A very special person, Victor Wilson, was critically injured in an accident on Thursday October 29th and his road to recovery will be long and painful. For those fortunate enough to know Vic he is an amazing person filled with passion for his family, his friends, bmx, and motorcycles, just to name a few. After fighting for his life he is now left without a spleen, kidney and large portions of his pancreas and small intestine. The medical and recovery expenses are going to be astronomical for Vic and his family and we’re asking for help. Please drop off or mail in anything you can spare to the location below of your choice. Cash or checks payable to “Victor Wilson”.
Your help is very much appreciated.

Very sad story...perhaps, this should have a thread of it's own.

I dont know Vic, but living here in ROC I'm aware of the story, and was shocked to find out that he is one of our VBMX bros...

I'll get a donation out asap, and if his family has any fundraisers please keep us updated...I could likely get my company to donate the spaghetti sauce if they decide to hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser, and I'm thinking that they may also be able to get one of the local grocery stores "Wegmans or Tops" to donate the pasta...

Vic is doing good. He is awake and alert. He is still on a ventalator and can not talk yet, but they hope to remove the tubes by the end of the weekend. The plan is to remove him from ICU and put him in a regular room soon. When I was with him today I told him everyone on Vintage was sending their well wishes..

Great News!!! Vic is off the ventalator and breathing on his own. He was sitting up and he was in great spirits. He misses his kids but he understands that they can not come and see him in ICU. Hopefully they will be moving to a regular room soon, and from there he will begin the work to get home. sun_bespectacled.gif good3.gif
