If you have ever raced at Cool Tool in Rochester, NY (Hilton/Parma) please post when and what you rode BITD. Also if you have any photos it would be cool to see them. I raced there from 1985 until it closed. I know some people here have raced there.

Dennis- that isn't Kenny Pascoe in that picture at Gilford. Pascoe was #46p plus your brother was too old to be racing Kenny. I think that was a guy who's last name was Patrick. If Aman sees this he would be able to tell you who that is.

Guys here is a new program for this year @ Upstate BMX. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. This is not set in stone yet. Anyway this is what I have so far. This would be a max of 9 races plus the final. I know there are people that cannot make all races so I am thinking of taking say the best 4 or5 finishes and the final for points.
MONDAY NIGHT OPENS
EVERY MONDAY NIGHT JUNE 29th. THROUGH SEPTEMBER 7th.
-Races are run after Monday night practice. Practice 6-7:30 race after
-Must have a current ABA membership
-Race fee will be $3.00 + $4.00 for the practice (total $7.00 must do both)
-Points will be tallied using ABA Expert points table. *NO ABA DISTRICT POINTS AWARDED*.
-Riders may ride class or cruiser in the following 4 age groups:
9 and under
10-14
15-20
21 and over
-Monday Night Open finals will be Sept. 7th. at our Labor Day race. This will be a Monday Night Open "DOUBLE POINTS" event. Trophies will be awarded at the finish of the race. (national sized trophies 1st. through 3rd.)
-There will be no rain dates(except for the final which would be the next scheduled Saturday race)
-Upstate BMX reserves the right to modify the rules at any time.
-This is our first year for this and if it goes over good we will expand it further next year. We will use rider feedback to help determine format for next year. There is a possibility of running a King of the Dirt competition with the southern tier tracks for all open riders at the State Finals.

As of now we do not have a lot of 21-34 riders. We will be racing for a couple months before this series starts and if there is more in that age range we probably will add it. We would also need a bunch of your old crew out there also to make a "senior" class.

TOMG, Yes #41p is Kenny Pascoe, and you may be right about the #1 rider being Charlie Goodrich. Back in 84 and 85, Columbia gave out co-sponsorships for the #1 riders. Both Kenny and Charlie were offered, and Charlie took the opportunity but Kenny didnt ride the bike or gear. This is Guilford, CT which was an awesome track. #75 is my brother Al Neubauer.
Thanks for the memories.

Cool-Tool was a great track but man was it long. Racing, and practicing there would get you in serious shape. We had some great times there.
I will never forget the day DJ, Dan and me wondered if someone could pick up for the second jump and pedal it. Well we did it (pretty scary stuff) and had a huge advantage over everyone down that first straight!
Kelly you are and always will be the MAN!!
Tim you still got style, and always did ride the heck out of the big bikes!
(I think I got 2nd or 3rd behind Jamison Hendler at one of the Nationals there.....on the old trusty National Pro)
It was long.....the first straightaway seemed endless

I never raced at cool tool. Boy that name sounds so familiar.
Can-Am was highlight at the end of the season. Those were some great events. Speaking of Whitey I found of pic of me and Whitey on the same gate in Southtown. I never really knew him, but I think we both kind of knew the same people. I stopped racing in '86. I had turned expert the year before... At first I did OK but I'm on the small side and just couldn't hang with the big guys. After a season of near continuous losing I lost interest and plus just graduating high school I had a lot of other distractions like cars, girlfriends and college on the horizon. I started riding a lot more street and ramps instead of racing with Jeff Beck AKA Jones who is in Dracula Jones (if you were near Syracuse you may have heard of the band)
Don't know if you remember a few guys riding the 1/4 pipe before mains at Syracuse War Memorial... one of them was me:
The other was guy from Canada was came down to Onondaga occasionally. He was a great freestyler. I think he was from Kingston though I'm not positive. He was riding the ramp with me.
OK, this is going to go make me go through all my pics. It's supposed to rain all weekend anyway, right???!!!
Durg..your so goofy...Cool Tool sounds so familiar to you...cause I was sponsored by them right before I stopped racing....

That race in 1982 was actually the first ever BMX race I saw in my life. At the time I had an old steal ROSS with a set of TUff 1's on it and I was starting to become interested in BMX. So, I heard about that race somehow and asked my dad to take me to it.
I remember for some reason falling in love with the Mongoose riders. I think it may have been their uniforms. The red/white/and blue looked so cool or something. But I left there wanting a Mongoose more then anything in the world.
I then ran my first ever race, using that old Ross that following November. Then about a week later my dad bought me a Redline and I never rode anything but a Redline in my life. I never owned a Mongoose. Although my dad did race a 26 inch Mongoose for a year or two.
So, seeing that picture brought back many great memories of my first ever BMX experience.
