Dude,

I just ran a 5k race with my son, he killed it. Beat me by like 4 minutes.
I am getting old.
Eric my legs are spent. I know you want the re-match but not today.
I think I am going to start training now for next spring. LOL......
Stu 2, Southtowns is having their last race of the season next Friday 10/17.
Try to make it out, save on gas.
WhiteyWilliams is going to the NHL.
Andy hit me up with the hot tees.

Dave,

Running and biking use a whole different set of muscles, quit making up excuses. No worries mate. I bring the 20 as well and do battle with Johnny R. if there are not enough cruisers. I was just going to call you before I saw this. What 5K did you guys run?

That is awesome man. Running is tough for sure. You are right, Johnny is no joke. I cannot beat him either although I am not going to quit trying. You should have seen wheelie down the back side of the first double chasing him in the rain the other night. High pucker factor there for sure. Forgot to drop the front wheel. Had a few oohs and ahhs from the sparse crowd thinking I was going to loop it out. Enjoy the weather.

estbmxny,
All we do is invite a friend.
If we sart with 4 people, we can have 8 if everyone invites someone.
Just takes a litlle effort.

There was a night when we potentially had 2 full gates.
But some flaked and raced cruiser class only.
Then some claimed they were chasing points, so the backed out.

It's not a sure thing, but no matter what.......
IT's FRIKIN FUN!!!!!

We will get something pulled together. Kind of late in the season out here to be doing a lot of rider recruitment. I am hopeful that next spring will bring out some more fathers and bikes.

As a Track President it is never too late to do rider recruitment. If you do it over the winter you will have a bigger rider base in the spring. By the way if anyone is out in the Chicagoland area and wants to race just let me know. If you want to have the EBA race here we can help out. We had an old school show and race at the state championship race we held last month. We even had the big Vintage BMX truck there. Woooo

I just bought a mouth Guard off a guy from this site's "wanted" section, but I won't have it until next week sometime, that along with the fact that my conditioning is less then athletic right now, means that I probably wouldn't try to race this Friday at Southtowns. However, I may just come out to see whats going on and check out the track. Its been 23 years since i have been there and would love to check it out!!!

What kind of turn out do they usually get out there for 40+ cruisers?

They usually get about 2-5 riders. Kevin Ladd,Marchal,Larry P.BMX PRO, and whoever else shows up. I turn 40 in May so throw me in that mix too.....

I'm going to try to get back on schedule and try to race every Friday again next year at the goat path they call Southtowns. I refuse to drive more than twenty minutes to a track for a bike race because it's just that a bike race. Right DJ?

You guys are making me want to take the trip west and hit up some races. Too bad the summer went so quick cause you never know what you're gonna get for weather now. I will bow out of the throwing elbows/getting cut off/going over the berm. After a separated shoulder at the skatepark, and almost getting knocked out at the CNYBMX national (I hate landing on my head on asphalt!) and other various crashed I've come to the conclusion that crashing isn't good to a 40 year old's body!

I took Goracy and his kid to some trails and he's had my cruiser this past week... he's already thinking he's gonna kick everyone's behind.

Maybe I will have to get an NBL license next year as well? I would like to hit Southtowns and CNY BMX. My in-laws don't live all that far away from there.

Is Southtowns really a "Goat path" now?

Like I was saying, as near as I can figure, its been well over 22 or 23 years since I have been to the track and I do have to admit, I have been wondering if it still has the same layout/jumps/condition etc.

If it is that bad, I'm kind of bummed, my dad and I helped to build and run that track many years ago....I guess I should be happy that it survived all of these years, unlike its sister tracks in the area like Amherst and Niagara Falls/Gold Circle but I was hoping that the track would still be in good shape??????

If its in real bad shape, I may think twice about running there, because for me its probably about an hour ride to get there......

Vic, sorry to throw you under the bus like that but when I passed him in the last turn, he was like whao, Vic and I have a deal where we don't pass after the 3rd straight. I have dumped more than a few unsuspecting riders in that last turn at Upstate. My starts have gotten much better, so I have had to do less passing there. Post the pic up again. That was my second race after a 23 year layoff...

Andy,

I would have only raced novice in the eba. I can't remember what number I would have been running on the bike. I only did a couple of the State Fairgrounds races bitd. As far as NBL, the number would have 45t, 14 novice, 15-16x. Cool-Tool and nationals in Akron, Marietta, OH, Waterford Oaks and Southpark in 86 my last year racing. I think I only raced once or twice at Eagle, once and Onandaga and a bunch at Yachzees (sp?) in Henrietta. It was in Henrietta that I first met Vic and the Williams bros when I showed up with my spanking new Torker 280x from Barone's. Hence Vic's nickname for me "Ali Babba" Torker

Guys,
Here are some pics of Waukgean BMX. If you look at the 2nd straight the 1st jump is a small set of doubles you can roll, the 2nd is a 20 foot table pull and pedal, 3rd jump is a set of 24 foot double in the 5 to 6 feet tall range and I can over jump that 90% of the time. the other 10 % there is too muh head wind, the last is a 15 feet or so step up in to the turn that you use your backside pump from the doubles to jump. If any of you remember me at the Pines I could not jump jack crap. Well I guess that you can get better with age. I have been racing out here for 11 years and 8 back in NY. Wowo that is a long time.

We will post when and were the qualifiers are when we find out. Should be by end of the year. Redline finals however will not be released until about July or early August of next year. I would assume that the finals will be mid south as they were in ohio this year and south carolina the year before but you never can tell.

Whitey,
I would love to someday go to New York.
Invisibleman and I have been waaaay to busy and haven't been hanging out lately .
But we would BURN NEW YORK DOWN if we went there to have some fun!!!!
That would be soooooo much fun!
I just don't know how I could get a "leave pass" from the warden. LOL!

I'm down to rock a Commissarry/ GHP jersey.
I rock a Commissary t-shirt at all BMX oriented stuff I hit up,
including the BMX documentary movie I got interviewed for a few months back.
Andrew knows I'm down with him.

Got my GHP XXL up and running. Plus the XXL Atomlab/ Atomic stem.
I'm 6' 1" and Invisibleman is almost 6' 3".
I think he might even think my bike is a little big. 21.75 inch top tube as well.
It's like having your own limo, except you're the driver and you can off road it if you like. LOL!

Check this site out win you have some free time http://www.ctbike.com/Savage.htm Once at the rubber bowl I beat Danny Nelson for 4th to make it to a 1/4.
