Well, not really, but sort of cool anyway. Seems to be box stock and in very good shape. A guy at my work has been hounding me for years to find one for him. So I do ,then he tire kicks it and says maybe he would give it to his 14 year old to trash. Even though it is a Huffy, I couldn't let that happen. My boys LOVE it, and won't destroy it.

Has the bike been cleaned up & restored or has no one ever really ridden on it ? It looks immaculate for it's age.
As for the guy who tire kicked the bike...he would probably want to us an all original 1959 409 Chevvy Impala you found for him as a demolition derby car , because it wasn't the SS model. Picky ungrateful SOB

So this is what it comes to!

Did Cook Bros stel the seat post idea from Huffy or the other way around? Which is the Repop? Probably Huffy and why this sport sucks!
Cool find Jeff. Let's see you Son busting it over a jump on it!

Here is a couple of quickie shots. We had to get to the ice cream shop BEFORE Rockstar Supernova came on. Hard to see how far he is jumping. A little bit of mulch roost for you viewing pleasure. I guess this IS what it has come to for me. Cool bike that my kids can blast on! I don't really think Huffy's had THAT bad of a rap at this point. Anyway...

On a side note, I had an earlier black one with a "ten speed" seat. I thought it ruled!!!

from Harry Leary's cover bike to a lowly Huffy. Full circle indeed. Jeff, remember what you always referred to beater bikes as? Yeah, "Huffys". "That "Novi" on the "Huffy" almost took me out in turn two..."

way cool, first one i've ever seen in red! i have two, but both are rebuilt thrashers. one has lesters on it and is called "the dozer" (we seem to think the weight is comparable, lol). the other is still in need of rebuilding. by the way, i need two of those seat struts, anyone have any to spare?

That is the exact bike I have been searching for and you found it in beautiful shape.
My brother had one for a few months before it was stolen in Kansas way back when. I loved that thing, adust the shock jump and go boing, boing. Loved the bike. My brother went on a scout tour of the local police station and there sat his bike, but dad said you already have a new one so they left it.
Nice pics of your son on the bike and great find by any collectors point of view.

well if the 409 was available in 1959, that would be a super rare car!!!! It was first available in 1961.

Those bikes are absolutely awesome and definitely have a place in bmx history.
They helped propel more mx fantasies than all of the boutiquey moto-exotica chrome moly wonder bikes combined.
