I have this really nice Redline mxII frame/fork set but its the ugliest shade of blue. When I first bought it i was gonna restore it but the stickers on it are hard to find. Also, because of the colour i built it up with different colours and nothing seems right, even red parts dont look as good as they should.
Re-paint or build as is?

I don't think it's worth it Quickie.....just send it to me and I'll get rid of it for ya.. ...seriously, if you keep that frame colour, why not go with black and chrome parts. Keep it understated..

That colour is rare. Definitely don't change it. I'd ask a professional painter about your options and try to keep the original paint if you can.
As for the decals, I know a source for correct versions if it is absolutely necessary to change them.
That's one of my old bikes except for the colour!

Hey Reece,
The survivor Redline I'm cleaning up for my 11 year old son is exactly that colour. Steering head decal is yellow, though I think that may be sun faded. He's keen to get his powdered white however. Does yours have a serial number? Ours has the Redline logo in an oval and no serial number. I'm thinking 82/83.

Interesting Reece.
Yours is the only other one I've seen in that colour - I wonder if it was only released in Australia. Did any of you US guys see this light blue colour BITD? There was a thread I saw once that talked about older US built non-serial MXII frames maybe being sold off/cleared out in Australia around that period.

My buddy had one bitd in Adelaide. He had it built up with red parts.... I always liked it! It was the only other one I have seen.

Reece - I bought it! $69 US ($91 OZ) was a great deal for an MXII. My EBay name is Tazturtle.
