All,
Just got back from a trip interviewing Tony Distefano and Jimmy Weinert for "The Motocross Files" on Speed... Season Two. I told Jimmy how boomin' the vintage BMX scene is and he said he has a Jimmy Weinert BMX bike in the attic. Might be signed and on the market in the near future. I'll keep you posted.
Happy 4th!

I remember he and Hannah both having JJW bikes at Puyallup around 1977.

You all don't have any idea on what a charecter he is. After spending almost two days with him and his family...the guy is just great. Told great stories, made up songs about Hannah and Lackey on the guitar, then showed us how the Weinert family has fun with an impromptu distruction derby in the junkyard with the Jammer at the wheel of a school bus chasing his nine-year old (the Lil" Jammer) in a beater Hyundai. All in the mud. Crazed... Super guy and family though. It'll make great TV!

BenOr- Thanks and I have to admit talking to these MX legends is great and for those of us who got into BMX because we really wanted to race moto, it's all the sweeter to have these guys tell us the stories that we only read about BITD.
I don't think I could grow the fro like we had on the bus tour in 1982. It just happened. I might post some pics from the tour shortly. Classic stuff only true SE fans will enjoy.
Ciao.
