Well, looking from the outside in I am a racer more than I am a collector. I usually run across some pretty cool stuff at the track and if it is something that would be worth collecting I like to offer it to people here on the board.
The funniest thing that I run into is the moto of "Something is only worth what someone will pay for it" which I believe is 100% true.
But when you post something up that you find everyone asks you "Well what do you want for it?". If it is only worth what someone will pay for it yet they want to know what you want for it, what is it worth?
I see some people getting upset with stuff listed on the Bay and how things are handled, but that also takes out that whole "worth" thing out of the middle.
I recently have tried to help people with stuff they have listed in the want sections. When they ask what I will take for it, I just say "just make me a decent offer" and I never hear back.
Just one of the complexities I have run into on the collecting side of the house.
Not good nor bad, just what seems like a disconnect in the middle.
