Considering The stories and history of the famous Ricks Bike Shop Team, the time frame and location. Did you have any relation to the DogTown group. The stories of the 2 groups are very similar.

hang with the dog town z-boys.
STILL DO. if you were at the gonzo b.b.q. you would have seen and met them at the rick's bike shop team booth.
both rick's bike shop team members john (jp) palfreyman and
thom lund were original z-boys.
tony alva, jay adams, stacy peralta and more use to pile into my van and go to the races with us. we all did sewer sliding, skate boarding and well lets just say partied together.
visits to see skip and jeff and the boys at the zepher shop was a regular thing.

P.S. NOTE...hey ruby. patti is diggin the attention she gets wearing the new dog town hat. people freak. way cool

I new there had to be a connection.

I was lucky, when I rode for Vans I got to meet and do shows with most of the Z-Boys. I could of gone either way BMX or Skate Boarding. Just a couple days ago I was skating vert with my son.

Is Jay Adams still MIA ?
When I watched the Z Boys/Dog town DVD here , I wondered what happened to Jay , seeing's tho they had managed to track down every other member of the "crew" from bitd.....

I always liked this photo he posed for & the interview answers he gave from this 1979 Skateboarder magazine.
He sounded like a "fun" guy to have around

Jay isn't the missing Z-Boy. That would be Chris Cahill, last seen in Mexico. Jay had some legal trouble for which he was incarcerated in Hawaii, and his whereabouts are known.

I heard Jay is out and some friends have him skateboarding again.

My bad , I could have sworn it was Jay who I saw listed as MIA in the credits.....
Sound's like Jay was having a bit too much "fun" in Hawaii if he ended up as a guest in a re-education resort there , I hope things work out for him now.

I found that the Z Boys docco was overall a more interesting DVD to watch than than Joe Kid was , not that Joe Kid was dull and unimformative , it was quite an eye opener to watch as well

that is one of my all time fav. movies and documentery's which I just watched again last night.I was into boards before bmx.

the documentery was good. the movie was a lot of hollywood.
