I have the chance to buy this mongoose pictured below from a local seller.. he wants $100 for it but i am sure i could knock the price down a bit.. but myquestion is, is it worth it?? he says its all original minus the bars and stem.. check out the pictures and let me know what you think. Also I would appreciate it if you could give me an estimate on its value..Thanks, Tom

that is definately worth it, if you dont want it id buy it from you. the pedals, seat, grips, brakes, wheels arnt original to it though.

the forks arnt the originals, the usual forks for a 81 look the same as a team mongoose fork but have just a normal mongoose decal on them. as for value, it really depends on how original it is, but your still getting a good buy at $100 because its a strong bike that would make a good rider.

about the value of it, if its not really all original for a 1981-82, it wont sell for more then $150. one just went on ebay for around $134 today, that didnt have all the original parts. the parts on the one that your looking at that arnt original are: wheels, seat post, seat, seat clamp, stem,bars, grips, brakes, pads, fork. the frame and the cranks on it are original though. are the extra parts laying in the background included? because its still a good buy.
