Loooking for any BMXer's from the Massachusetts area in the early 80's. Ever raced at Lunenburg or New Bedford, Rhode Island?
Bill
Hal and I both were from that era.

We raced in Weymouth, Hopkinton, and Northboro. I raced in Rocky Hill, RI and Lunenburg in the later 80's.

I raced in Lunenburg and Dunstable when I was about 15. I can still remember the shop at Lake View, it was like Christmas just walking into that place. What ever happened to all their stock?
bon jovi 83

that place had everything, cool track too...

dunstable was a neat track, night racing was different.didn't last very long ,though.i still have a flyer from the track when it first opened.

you always wonder about the old shops that had everything, where did it all go??????????
heard condo's or houses are where it used to be.

same happened to derry,n.h. old track on the hill.
condo's went up and the track moved to a small location down the street, next to the operaters shop.any one remember his name??

Hey guys. I used to race alot of those tracks myself. Lunenburg was one of the tracks I raced at all the time. I got my GHP mini there and still have it hanging on my wall in my side room. Very cool times had there. If i remember Lunenburg had a first turn that was split in two right? I was real young during those days. I was just happy to race. I would love to see some pics of Lunenburg if anyone has any.

Lunenburg was my home track, and they did have a first turn that was split in two. If I remember they were also a snowmobile shop in the winter. Does anyone remember a indoor track on cement with wood jumps in Rhode Island? Maybe 82' ish.
Hal
Yep...Providence Rhode Island......a gate..first straight had a plywood table top, into a flat right hand turn, straight two plywood table top into turn three, sprint to the finish line..wasnt much but it was racing.......

Weymouth
Providence RI
Northboro
Hyannis
Derry NH
North Hampton
Hopkinton
Egg Harbor NJ
Vineland NJ
Jersey City NJ
State College PA
Millersville MD
Indianapolis IN

Raced all of those from 79-82

Raced all those tracks myself, the Matthews ran Lunenberg (OSR North I believe they called it) - anyone know what happened to them? I used to really good friends with them - I know that Mrs. Matthews died around '83 or '84 and from then their involvment waned, but I would love to know what happened to Sean their son, we raced together (and against each other for a few months) on the OSR team for a few years

My dad built the jumps at the track in Providence..that track was kind of lame, but I remember finding randomn guitar picks up in the bleachers and around from the rock concerts they put on there (it was called the Main Event) - the best one I found was one from cheap Trick, still have it somewhere.

Ah yes...good old memories

I raced on them all...And won on them all too from 80-88, ABA, NBL, USBA. I have so many memories and stories from that neck of the woods, I'm writing a book on it..
