Im going to say some stuff here and I don't give 2 ****s what anyone thinks...Im not trying to be mean or disrespectful so please do not take this personal...

Scot is a great person who has an addiction, he has a track record you can obviously see for yourself. If any of you truly respect him, love him, want to help as you say then back up and let the man sit for a while. I have known him most of my life, way longer than anyone here with the exception of a few Utterback, PK, Stu these guy's understand where Im coming from. Let him deal with the consequences of his actions. It does not mean anything that he is a legend, founder of the sport, whatever it means nothing. he is a man, just like any of us and he does not need the hero worship crap let's help him because he did so much for the sport BS..Im sick of hearing this..He has a track record..Get him out and not only will you LOSE your money but he will continue the substance abuse as well as using any means to get what he needs..

I love you Scot but it's time you sit this one out and get your crap together..Spend time reading, learning, whatever it takes to get you to realize there is a life out there for you if you want it.

gonna go out on a limb and speculate that repeat is a softy for heros who happen to have his phone number.

if anyone knows how Scot got my number, you could have asked me. ask him to remove it from his call list asap. I support his rehab through prayers, good thoughts and my money, but this is pushing it....

The charge of "wanton disregard for safety" do you know what that means? He not only put his life in danger, but he put at risk the lives of the pursuing officers and the public, a public that uncludes every one of us, our families and our friends. Inexcusable and unforgiveable. He is very lucky that no innocent people were killed or injured.

No. i would not put up a single dime of my money to quarantee Scot's bail. Nor should anyone else. If Scot can raise the bail bond thru sales of his own property, he has every right to do so. Just as you or I would do in the same circumstances, if it ever arose.

I would not ever put my family's financial well-being at risk for anyone outside that immediate family - me, my wife, and my boy. that's it.

Scot asked. I said no.

I sold items of his in my possession and sent the money on to his girlfriend at Scot's request. I sold some books donated by Gary Haselhorst and autographed by Stu to help out Scot, at their request. I let people know about a legal defense fund set up by Scot's girlfriend.

I have also had long conversations on the topic with Greg Hill, JU, and others.

That's all. end of story.

I've been there, my family & friends helped me, I did it again, they helped me again, I still ****ed it up, my family and friends gave up on me (they have lost alot of money on me), I started to think twice and realized I needed some serious help and that I had to surrender myself, I had to go thru the hard way which is soberity/ Recovery. I have lost so many good friends, some family members.It took me years to get my family and friends trust back, believe me, it's ****ing hard to do. I know Scot does not belong in jail, but what would help him? He has went thru rehabs few times, I guess that didnt help him, I guess he has not woke up yet? Hopfully he is now. Bottom line, DO NOT enable addicts. It will do more damage to him than good. this is hard for me to say but, thats how it is. Let him fix his own mistakes and learn from it, Hopefully he will become a better person.
Trust me on this. I work with 100's of addicts a year. I am a certified chemical dependency counselor. I work in a rehab with deaf clients.

I am sympathetic to this situation. But to come on a BMX message board and ask people to pony up 35k is frickin absurd. Who are you anyway? You just registered this month and have never even used your real name.

This whole thread is a total bummer (from the OM angle). By bummer I mean sh!tty that this whole topic has come down to begging and pleading and asking people to do WAY MORE than they should. Bummer in the fact that all these numbers are tossed around: phone #'s, inmate numbers, addresses, reference numbers, police records, etc. All of this crap should be handled offline by someone who cares for Scot.

Tough love.....it's called "tough" for a reason. OM is a cool guy. He treats everyone like a best friend, but maybe he needs some time to consider his options and sort through his situation. I think Mr. Hill knows what he's talking about.

I'm gonna do my part by writing the OM a letter and dropping it in the mail tonight.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I completely understand the tough love! I've been there done that with other friends and family. As far as tossing around all these #'s, well that's what Scot asked me to do, so I'm just trying to do my part. We're not asking everyone to give up anything, not families or homes or businesses, we are just asking for those who are willing to support the OM. Yes, he has been thru rehab before, but not like the one he is asking for now!!! A very intense in-house program!!! Congrats to all who have been able to over come their demons! It is not an easy task and I commend you all!!! Now I just want to help Scot get to that point!!! I am truely sorry that this thread has become such a mess! That was not my intention at all!!!! Just looking for those who are willing to support and help out!!!

The man screwed up, and he needs to pay the price. I think some people need to think they are "doing something" for people until the next "important" cause comes along. Remember when everyone was going to "help" Tony Ell, well he has been all but forgotten by most now. I was one of the few with a different opinion on the Urgent Help thread, now it seems a few more are changing their opinions. The man sold drugs and endangered innocent people. He is not a good person now and needs to pay for his actions. Hopefully he can recover and become a good person again.

I have yet to comment on any of these OM threads yet but this one really makes me want to puke. I say this because I feel it's true, not because I'm some asskisser to the BMX Legends here. I love what Scot has done on a BMX level but other than that.....no thanks. I truly admire the steps Tim and the guys have helped him out with raising his own money and their moral support but thats EXACTLY where it should stop. I've been through this with a long time personal freind, so don't think I don't understand the games and disappointments. i hope Scot finds the strength but it appears to me that he's still trying to manipulate people and make his BAD decisions eveyone elses responsibility.
