....for wanting to USE these?

I'm looking for a set of red 24" tires... I'm not sure of the rarity of these ones here on ebay. The seller makes it sound like they're extremely valuable or something.

Are they? Cause if I get them, I'm riding on them.... Would that be a dumb idea?

I guess they are not that common.

You can ofetn find NOS yellow label red CompIIIs in 24 x 1.75 pairs on ebay for $30.

Buy a couple of sets - ride one, keep one

buy 'em. ride 'em. i need a red set for my 20''

If they were extremely valuable they'd probably have at least one bid instead of sitting at $29.95 with seven hours to go. Personally I get teary-eyed at the idea of anyone actually using NOS parts, but I don't think you'd be robbing the world of the next Hope diamond if you slapped these on your 24 and hit some doubles.

I need one exactly like that in Black! My search continues.......

IRC tires are not that easy to come by, especially the Racer X, and Z-1 (like the DB Comp II style). If you got them for $30.00, then you scored, would be a sacrilege to use them (in my humble opinion)

I use knock offs on riders for the most part. I do have real Comp ST's on my Haro Sport, but they're reasonable by comparison to a lot of OS tires. On my 20" race bike I have blue comp III tread Cheng Shin skinwalls. I just can't see spending the kind of money that good original Comp III's demand and then riding on them. The Cheng Shins are cheap though - so I can ride them guilt-free.

irc tires do not hold the same value as comp 3 for some reason, but they were quite common on kuwaharas

YES YOU ARE!

Ramon is right, they are a very high quality tire. No shame in using IRC tires.
