Hi there everyone. I need some help to find out what the biggest size tire, (width wise) I can fit on an early oldschool OM FLYER with Landing Gear forks is. I have some Comp III's in 2.125 width and some Mongoose/Winners Choice/KOS tires in 2.125 width. I want to make sure the 2.125 width will fit without rubbing the forks or the chain/seat stays of the frame. The rims will be Araya 7x 26x1.75 or Sun Ryno Lite 26x1.75 . I know the 1.75 width tires should fit without rubbing, but I'm not 100% sure on the 2.125 width. Any help from some OM FLYER owners or previous owners would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and take care.

Brian

Yup, I had a tan 2nd gen OM with 26x1.75 Araya 7X's and 2.125 tires on front and rear. No problem at all.

Araya's here, with a 2.125 on the front, wouldn't have it any other way! always love an excuse to put up a pic of old girl!

I have a 2nd gen OM...I run a 2.125 up front and a 1.75 in the rear. I'll bet you could run a 2.125 on both and it would be fine. Might look weird but should run fine.

Thanks for the info so far guys. I sort of figured the 2.125 width would clear but I wanted to check and ask around. I've found alot of tires in black in the 1.75 width, but I need blue color tires and everything I find in colors is 2.125 width. I don't care about the bigger size/width as long as they don't rub. I wish someone would make 26" colored tires again. Oh well. Also, that's an awesome looking OM Flyer there Joe! I love the baby blue and gold, the perfect SE racing colors. Are those vinyl snap-button pads original or reproduction? They really look goood on there. Take care.

Those are reproduction Brian,I believe Alfred at retrobmx.com made them. I have real camo SE pads, and real brown/blue nylons pads, but I didn't think either were appropriate for that build,so I put the camos on THIS OM! : ) Thanks for the compliments man!
