I don't have a pic yet but I am trying to get one later in the week. A neighborhood kid came to me with a bike he has had in his shed. I know that it is a old Mongoose but now sure what. It has the porthole TT gusset and is not a looptail. The forks have the welded dropouts not the type that are crimped at the end. And the forks are a pretty small diameter. There is a kickstand on the frame that partially covers the SN but I starts with a P. I think I am going to buy the bike if I can get in touch with the guy. by the way it is chrome and the rest of the parts are junk. Any info would be great. thanks I'll try and have a photo soon.

If it has a "T" anywhere on the BB shell and a pinched right seatstay it is a Supergoose or Team mongoose Full cromo. No T = front triangle cromo

If it has dropouts that have holes in them on the frame, the Supergoose is ID'd by 3 holes in the brake bridge. trimoly geese of that vintage have one hole in the brake bridge.

Top frame 82 Supergoose with second generation or step dropouts and three hole bridge.

Bottom frame 79 mongoose no flattened right seat stay. Serial starts CJ9 C(Chatsworth)J(10th month)9(1979)

Sounds like it has team mongoose forks too. Nice find

I think it has the 3 hole brake bridge and the holes in the drop outs. I'll see if I can pick it up this week. If anyone is interested drop me a line.

Have been able to catch up with the kid who has it but the poor bike is sitting in the middle of his backyard. I hope someone doesn't take it. I'll keep you posted.

how did the deal go with the mongoose? I might be interested in it if its a supergoose.
