Gonzo's event went off. I didn't take any pictures so hopefully someone will post them. I'll borrow some from Sodbuster and Steve Brothers. hope they won't mind.

It was cool meeting so many great people and their treasured collections. The love for the sport was everywhere as you can see from a small section of Sodbutser's collection

This love was specially shown over by the Rick's Bike Shop tent. The Godfather of BMX Rick Twomey along with his much better half Patti.
Also there some of the "boys" (as they refer them) were there too. All legendary but down to earth. Doug Takahashi and John Palfryman. David Clinton also showed up later on.

Rick T had two of his early Rick's Bike Shop specials there. The Erich Richter one and an even earlier model

The Dick Clark of BMX was there. MR JU Utterback cool as ever.

Along with factiry JMC ace Adam Cox and DirtSlinger OMAS san Diego dominator Johhny Johnson

DGgreyboy and Steve Brothers. A special thanks to Steve. He worked his *** off to help Jeff Norton and Gonzo pull of this great event

Thanks to all who showed up. Cruiserking, 26", DG, Tim Cook and so many others who I apologize for not naming. To Steve and Snorton for all their work. To the Rick's Bike Shop crew. All people who I talked to and the ones I didn't get a chance to my apologies. To all the people who helped me with my projects such as Darren Chan, Cruiserking, DAN, Tony "Motomags" Bob Osborn and all others who helped me show my humble collection

Thanks to Vince Torres, another early unknown pioneer for the memories and thanks to well known legend Greg Hill for my sunburn!! Good talking to you jack***

But special thanks have to go to to Gonzo.

I had a long talk with him afterwards. I was the social butterfly and ended up being the last one tp pack. he wouldn't leave until he was done helping and I was all packed up.

I was under the impression that Gonz was running the "Bicycle Source" and was doing the event as a way to get some publicity.

Was I ever wrong, As I now know, the shop has not existed in years. Gonzo is doing it for the love. I respected this cat before and now even more so. My friend, you have my respect and thanks for what you do for the sport and thanks for the memories you bring back to this old bmxer.

It was a truly b!tch!n gathering. It was cool to finally meet JP and Doug and as always it was great to see Rick and Patti, just seeing some of the others I have come to know since I got back into it just made it a great day. Rick, it was VERY cool seeing ya there, I'm just wondering how much stuff ya went home with, I'm sure way more than ya showed up with. Got a he!! of a sunburn but it was worth it.

It was good to meet new people. Next year I will not such a newbie and hope to talk to more people. I did talk to Moosegoose nick for a bit. Bought some parts like a blue TNT stem (that looks great on the moose BTW) an event T-Shirt, got some mongoose pads from Firebird( I owe you dude) and pitched in for lunch even tho I would not be having any wich is very unfortunate because it looked and smelled GREAT!!!

Gonzo, Steve Brothers, and Jeff Norton put on a very fun event.

Myself, Greg Hill, and (Hill's wife) Liz Torres' uncle Cinto stayed under the old ABA tent 95% of the time because the weather was UNREAL HOT!

Cinto brought an early 70's Yamaha Motobike. RAD! Hill brought some stuff to sell. A Webco mag, some very old Motomags, some Webco bags, a complete, first edition Schwinn Sting, an 85' GHP frame, as well as the very first GHP decals that I never seen before, and a few of his 2006 GHP frames too.

We had a lot of fun keeping hydrated (cough cough), meeting people, bench racing, smack talkin' (in fun), and checking out some amazing bikes, publications, uniforms, and colletions.

The first person I met was Patti Twomey. Geeez is she a nice gracious person! I met her husband Rick Twomey who was extreemly cool too! Within the 15 minutes we spoke, he told me some amazing BMX history and invited me cruise by sometime with Reilley1. How very cool is that! Rick, I apologize not talking to you more. I look forward to speaking to you more soon.

Got to meet the one and only Johnny Palfreyman too. He was speading the gospel of the true school BMX and smack talkin' with the best of em'. Clinton said, "Give JP another beer, he can still count!" Hahahaha!

Lots of my favorite people dropped by too. Reilley1 a.k.a. Mr. Social Butterfly, the legendary Dave Clinton and his brother, Jeff Utterback with his 70's JT Racing t-shirt,

JMC's Adam Cox and his son, the very cool (and stylish) DAN, TIM Cook (not as stylish), Tony Motomags and his nice family and amazing collection of 1981 pro race bikes.

My fellow DJ and longtime friend DJ Greyboy and his very cool collection (as well as vintage t-shirt he was sportin'), Sodbuster, 26 Incher and his very nice roommate.

The one and only Spike a.k.a. Mike Rush wheelying around the event on his 70's Champion 20",
All the Nor Cal representatives, the very cool Hollywood crew.

Big shout outs to everyone else I met too...... It was extreemly hot that day and it really fried my thinking trying to remember everything and everyone. It was great seeing and meeting everyone.

Looks fun....and HOT....and COOL!

You darksiders have it made living in the motherland of BMX.....where else would there be a "Monoshock" class?

Great pictures everyone (from both sites and all pertaining threads). It's always great to stare at the bikes, but seeing faces ranks right up there too.
