Full Version: To Powder Or Not To Powder...That is the question

Ok, got this Kuwahara cruiser the other day. While it's a great find, it's not my thing. It will be for sale shortly.

But here's the question, do I leave the chrome that's on it, or powdercoat it? The chrome is good on most of the bike, except the seatstay/seatpost welds, and the bb welds where the chrone is GONE.

I'm asking because I'm sure one of you guys will end up with it. I have some stickers on the way, and I was thinking of doing it white.

Thanks for any input
Apollo
Leave it chrome.

If you're not going to build it, and sell it....leave "as-is". Let the buyer do his thing with it. Nice frame and fork btw.
Ringer
another vote for leaving it original if your selling it
mcam
It sure looks like a nice frameset. I'd really like a Kuwahara 24.

I agree, leave it as is.
bwl007
I also agree - leave it chrome.
bkquill
Leave it as is.

chrome looks OK, I wouldn't mess with it.

leave it chrome
Yasser
Sell it to me, lol.
OLDSKOOLPK
powder it....just kidding....LEAVE THAT PUPPY CHROME....then let the buyer decide what to do with it....very nice cruiser....but tooooo big for my 5'2 short body.

Rattle can it yellow and then do a splatter of pastel colors on it.
J/K, leave it chrome, looks like it's still in decent shape.
Moosegoose Nick
I got a Moose that I might trade for it...if you're interested in trading?

Chrome is good - that's how they came.
retrodave
Leave it chrome and pm me your price. LOL.

A good general rule to follow, "If it looks like chrome leave it alone"

So it looks like it will stay chrome. I have stickers on the way, and I plan on building it up. After that it will be up for auction.
Thanks for all the help. I didn't want to destroy something that means something to you guys.
BMX2112
cut it down and turn it into a pit bike and then rattle can it GOLD!!

If you decide to powder, you may want to find a set of Kuwahara pads before powdering. That may help you decide on a color. That's just my suggestion. I've restored a few bikes, including a Kuwahara 24.

Just sell it to mcam. Mike need a Kuwi 24!
