That's BMX jive talk for "favorite magazine photographs". One of my very favorites ever is this one from issue #4 of Bicycle Motocross Action. This image appeared in my mind as I watched the Hangtown MX Natitionals on TV today (that's James Stewart in the role of Ike Eisenacher ahead of Ricky Carmichel). . I know, kissing Oz's a-$-$ is so '05, but it still rings true in my heart and mind. Also, isn't it weird that motorcycle MX is still pure and dirty, real and raunchy, while BMX racing is this alien, jocked-out, shaved chest, clipped-in, appendum of what pedalcross was once all about? And freestyle BMX is where the soul of BMX now resides while "Freestyle MX" is a circus sideshow? What's wrong here?

Bring back BMX tracks with jumps you have to jump where rolling and pumping over them slows you down.

I remember riding Powers trails with Solan when he had that Motley Crue pin on that NP.

Joe Murphy still was wearing that same ole' half shirt too.

I'd vote for the pic of Jeff Bottema on the DG doing a laidout powerslide. I think it was in BMXA when they tested the bike. Awesome pic, bike almost horizontal with dirt flying all over.

Found it!!!!

pretty much any pic of Jeff Bottema on DG would be in the top ten...
That Solan pic rules!

A classic Oz shot, with an even more classic Oz line. This photo and caption is forever etched in my memory. I still laugh every time I see this, and man, I feel for the guy

This is my favourite action shot.

The angle and position of the bike and rider (Brent Patterson) just oozes speed.

After seeing this photo, I wanted one of those low profile Patterson frames soooo bad.

That Bottema shot is a classic. One of my favorites. Kind of tempting to pull the trigger on Buy It Now for that exact frame.
