Growing up on the east coast I raced NBL. Got my NBL license there, raced most of the year there. I would come to Texas during the summers and race here at Casino Beach. That was 20 years ago. I always thought that track was an NBL track because I never got an ABA license. Well, it seems my dear old Grandfather hooked me up every summer with an ABA temp license, `cuz I just learned last night that Casino was an ABA track!! Wierd. Goes to show you how little it actually mattered what sanction we were in as long as we were racing.
BTW, anyone have pics of the Casino Beach track??

what is wierd to me is when i lived in ny i always thought it was nbl out there but i found a aba license of mine from ny. this was a long time before kingston became aba. all i can think of was i got my aba membership right before i moved to TX so i could get the bmx'er and read about where the tracks were.

yeah, three sets of doubles right in a row. The step up in the 3rd straight was my favorite jump. I can`t believe it`s been almost 20 years since I rode that track. Wasn`t the first jump just a big single? I would love to see a few pictures, and with as many people that liked that track I~m surprised no one has posted any.

The 1st jump was a big single then a huge step at the end of the 1st straight
into a left berm with a set of doubles
a left sweeper berm with a jump in the middle
2 sets of big doubles and step into a 180 berm to the left
a set of triples
a berm to the right and into the infamous lobster claws
great track

I don`t remember the triples. Were they pretty small?
I remember taking a tip from Harry Leary on that first jump and tapping the front brake. It didn`t really do what I thought it was supposed to do, unless it was suppposed to slow me down and get passed. I was too young to be able to speed jump that sucker very well so I just hit the top and kept pedaling!
And Mark, I would be truly grateful for a pic or two :-)

You almost have it correct. After the double doubles, there wasnt a step into the big 180 berm and there was a tabletop jump instead of the triples you mentioed. Everything else you said was spot on.
I watered the track for Jeremy Penwells dad in between motos to pay for my races, so I was at the track every time it was open. Saturday and Sunday mornings and Tuesday nights for practice. I lived about a mile from Casino Beach and would ride my bike there if i didnt have a ride. Had many good times there.
