Sometimes you get 'em right the first time around and sometimes it takes a few iterations to get it just the way you want it. Well, my DY is one of those projects that has been several years in the making but I can honestly say it is done this time and it will never be changed again.

This one is for Jim Melton! Thanks for making the most incredible racing frames in the history of the sport!

Here goes with the details:

1985 JMC Darrell Young Design #8595

JMC Racing DYD Frame/Fork/bars/lay back seat post/padset - frame is one of 68 white
DYs ever made. I purchased the frame/fork new in March 1985.

DK Pro XL stem and 2N1 headset lock - my nod to the Ohio BMX scene where I grew up and raced.

Redline 401 Series Flight cranks w/Redline chainring and Tecmatic bottom bracket

Hutch Pro Pedals - my original pedals purchased new in 1984

Araya 7X rims with OMAS BMX sealed-bearing hubs, DT alloy nipples, and Asahi SS spokes

Tioga Comp IVs with a fatty up front

Miscellaneous: Oakley B1Bs w/Crud Plugs, Kashimax Aero, Izumi chain, Dia-Compe MX901 brake set, Terrycable, Mathauser finned pads, Tioga BearTrap 2 headset, and of course a set of RadKaps!

Enjoy the pics!

Props to the East Coast Wildman, The Kool-Kat from NJ, Dr. F. for the hubs and spokes! I finally used 'em!

Thanks to Greg and Casey Folk for the awesome job on the signboard. You guys rock! Check 'em out at folkbrothers.com

Parting shot #1...my pride and joy discovering Hutch pedals...OUCH!

Parting shot #2...Happy Mother's Day...LOL!

Has the movement begun or what! That is for sure a good looking JMC DY! I love the dark red parts, very wellchosen indeed. Greg and Casey Folk are RAD! Beautifull display.

Very nice, white JMC's are my favorite. Original owner, too cool.

Nuthin but perfection.

Super-sweet Alan.

I can't fight it any longer. I have always thought that JMC's were ultra-cool, but never felt the desire to go there. But I've reached the point where I can't fight the urge.....time to start crunching the numbers to see if a future build might be a possibility for me.

Thanks for posting pics. Well done!

Very sweet rebuild. I wouldn't change a thing either. Looks perfect to me. Cool board also.

Looks like it is ready for some action at the Spring Factory. Was that ever repainted?

WOW!!! If i owned that i couldn't help myself... I'd have to ride it! But i suppose you've already done a few miles on it anyway! Pre build of course..
