Hi there,
I just assembled a Floval Flyer for my wife. She allways mentioned that she wants to have her own ride. So I went into the cellar to assemble this survivor.
Parts brake down.
- SE Floval Flyer / Landing Gear Forks
- Alex Rims / tracking hubs / Ritchey speed max tires
- Profile Box Cranks /Spider/ Asco chain wheel
- Redline seat post / Redline saddle
- unknown handle bars
- pistol grips
- Se camo pad set
- tektro brakes
Just need brake pads and pedals!

Please enjoy!
Cheers
Oliver

I was wondering what this is. It's a 1/18 Landing Gear forks but no ahead. It was impossible to find a stem that match the forks. So I went in our machine shop to build an adapter to fix the ahead stem. Is this a custom made LG forks??

You know we have a sickness when we start using wives as reasons to do builds! Well Oliver, you better think of a different excuse for a build for your next one! I know because I have been there done that! I hope you..oops I mean she likes it! I do! Do you? Well done! I like the camo pads!

Looks like she just got a manicure in time to go ride!
I'm curious what you mean by 1 1/8 Landing gear but no ahead...Are the forks 1 1/8 but threaded? I'm confused...

Hey Gooser,
that's exactly what it is. 1 1/8 and threated!!!
I guess this is custom. The upper end of the forks ends at the nut ,so it was impossible to use a ahead stem and the 1" stems did not fit the forks because of the inner diameter.
So I build a fork extender that matches the ahead stem. The extender clamps in the way like the 1" stems. I hope my english is good enough to explain.

Yeah, that makes sense...but what a weird set-up. It must've been one of the in-between things they did before going to 1 1/8 threadless. How'd you find a headset to fit?

I went into a local bike shop and we tried several headsets. I guess this is for a road bike. It has sealed bearings.

That Floval is sweet oliver, makes me want to get mine painted baby blue too,
On the headset thing, didnt MTB's run 1&1/8th threaded forks before ahead came along? maybe its a throwback to that?
DINGO
p.s your wife looks VERY similar to my fiance, I will try and get a pic of her on my Floval for comparison

I don't have much time to build up some rides, because my wife needs full attention. That was the reason why I built the floval flyer. I can join my hobby and she is with me.

The next is to change some parts on my X24C. (Chrome rims and a better brake )
Cheers
