it's been a while since I've been on here!
I'm just starting to consider restoring my Mini Hutch with all the gold parts on it.
Can you just get the gold redone? Sorry I'm a rookie on this stuff!

Rich, I remember seeing that bike at Sea-Tac in the early 90's and thinking how cool it was.
Welcome to Vintage and good luck with the restoration

My Dad was just telling me a story last night....that this frame may be one of the first ever lil holeshot frames made.
I really only remember riding the aluminum one, but after looking at some old pics I realized I rode the steel one for a while!

Here's a shot of me from back in the day. Looks like a white steel frame I think.

Here's a photo of me on the gold bike. (thanks Shannon!)
I guess I had to give the aluminum frame back because everybody was breaking them. I never broke one though.
I still have all the parts though! I only raced the wheels once, I tagged the first jump on them and busted a spoke. I have one silver spoke in the back wheel, and they were only for show from that race on.

love the video on your site RR, and cool pics. and yeah you can get gold ano redone, but it's notoriously hard to match the colors with existing parts.

The "extra headset" looks like some kind of locking headset nut. They clamped around the steerer tube after the headset was adjusted so it would not loosen up.

Remember, we're talking about HUTCH...Bling. I believe that's gold as in, GOLD, like 24K, not gold ano? Wow. That's great you kept that all this time. Welcome to VBMX, it's about time!

Rocket! Alright! Good to see you here. I remember getting your autograph at the 86 or 87 ABA Grands in OK. I was like fifteen and you were probably 8 or something. I was getting all the pros signatures on the yellow ABA folder that they handed out with the Bob Haro drawing on the front. I still have it to this day. You signed ROCKET. It was so cool. You had the coolest mini out there. Take care man.

Glad to see you doing something with that thing. But like I told you at Rich Bartletts Block Jam you can give it to me HA HA.

The headset lock is just the short version of the Hutch 2N1 headset lock.
Rich: do you still have the titanium spindle and locking collars to go in the bottom bracket? If not, LMK, I have a spare and would gladly contribute it to your build! Also, I would love to have some details on the 3-pc aluminum crankset that was installed on the aluminum Jr. Is it one of the well-known Japanese brands or do I dare ask if it is stamped "HUTCH"? My guess is that it is Suntour, Sugino etc., but I do recall a picture of Hutch Team Mini that was described as having "Hutch 3-pc aluminum cranks".
Thanks!
Alan
