Now that I know how to post a photo. This is my completely restored BMX products Roger Decoster. The only thing I left off are the moto mags because they were so beat up, and the seat is a repro, as the original was too far gone. I had the frame re-nickel plated, the gold stem re plated, the seat clamp, bearing cups, fork, handle bars, cranks, etc... It looks and rides nice. It was a complete survivor when I got it. Just rusted to death.

Thanks for looking, can't wait to see some more.

this one belongs to a friend of mine, nevermind the pedals. decals are repro's from a couple years ago. it is for sale btw, hint hint.

I have this looptail one and I swear the sticker was on the downtube. You can totally tell from the wear of the finish. It's still all very nice, but you can tell where the sticker was. I have this almost all built up now, just no new photo at the moment, and I do have stickers for it but haven't placed them yet because I've been wanting to make sure of that. I remember posting this last year sometime and someone posted a comlpete looptail one and that had the sticker on the downtube as well. They said they won it at the Rockford event a couple years ago. Anyway here's a frame. I'll post the whole bike again when it's finished. Maybe bring it to Rockford too.

I have Photos of a looptail in original condition, I will post them tonight when I get home. I had originally put the decal on mine on the down tube because I had a pad on the top tube, and did not want to cover it. The photo shown is a repro decal, I have an original that I am saving.
Randy
looptail DeCosters and Mongoose frames had the decal on the downtube, everything else was up top.

Kilo's yellow RD is rad, makes sense, yellow=mx

Thanks Randy! I thought so but wasn't too sure. I'l hopefully have mine all done for Rockford, but we'll see. I'll try to get a new picture later.

i had a decoster in 78 but my frame was made by cook brothers racing,,it was a nickle finish,,,,,and for the time really light,,,,,,,,it came with a mongoose fork,,,,,7bs ,,,,a big *** astubula crank.......redline v bars ,,,,,,astabula stem,,,,,(first thing i replaced) (with a mcs) chen shin 1.75s i have a photo of it ,,i could never get the finish to clean up ,,,,but then again that was early 78 and i was a kid that rode a lot. ,,,,,,,,,,i think for c/mas that year i got skinwall tires for it and some other stuff...... it came with pads that were brown,,,,,,,with the big snaps,,,,,,the pedal i dont remember other than filling it down at school to make it sharper.

Randy
Cook Bros. never made DeCosters. You are mistaken.

DeCoster frames are nickel plated, until the few rare looptails they made in 1981.

My first real BMX bike was a Roger DeCoster, loaded up with tuffs and a bunch of Ashtabula stuff from the local Schwinn shop. It was a lot of good things, but with that mild steel rear tri and the solid steel Ashtabula parts, it was never mistaken for a light bike.

OMFG!!!

This is by far the best thread ever! My first BMX bike was a Roger DeCoster.

Astro, that bike is just as dope as it gets. Mine was very similar. Nickel w/ black tuff I's.

This thread absolutely rules; PLEASE keep the pic coming!!!
