I'm about ready to purchase a 24" bike. I'm thinking about buying a new one for now and then looking for a older "classic". I may end up the other way around though.
So many options. Bike will be for fun not racing, so weight and other concerns are not really major points. But I do have a tendency to ride a little "heavy" and occasionally have broken or bent a few things.
What would you buy.....?
So begins the hunt......

Price wise it's had to beat redlines, SE's, & DK's on complete bikes. Most have pretty decent stock components on them & should be fine in the duarability department. 2 are site sponsors with links onthe left to check out.

If you just want a "beater" cruiser to abuse, look into the DK General Lee 24 or the Haro Backtrail 24. The Redline MX 24 or DK Fury 24 are also good bikes for the money. A little racier, but should stand up to some abuse. For some old school flair with new school ride, check out the SE Floval Flyer. As far as building an old school scoot, pick whatever cruiser you rode/wanted as a kid & start searching.

My attention was on other hobbies from around 1980 til about 2004..... The 24" bikes weren't around early and, by the time they were, I was deep into a 1962 356 convertible (Cream with a black top - I wish I had that one back!). I've never even ridden a 24".
So what's the story on SE anyway....? Huge interest around here and good money on eBay. Great looking bikes! Seems like I read in another thread (or maybe an eBay auction) that they are now manufactured in China? Can anyone point me to a good history of SE?
I like the Redline Flight Pro 24 and I found bunches of the DK General Lees. Really cheap!
Old GTs seem to bring a lot of attention also. I saw a couple of Mongoose 24s go for what I thought was pretty reasonable but I have big holes in my knowledge of anything later than 1980.

the new fireman's cruzer 24s are great. they have a taller, more old school geometry. they're not cheap, though.

GHP? Yes? Shinburger do you perhaps a picture of yours? Would love to see the new GHP's! Think they are awesome! Would it be possible to show 24" GHP?
