I bought a old Dept store bike today(pics soon) at a garage sale. It says "TEam Cycle" as the brand. Did CYC make other folks bikes and job them out to stores? Uh,the frame looks alot like the old entry level CYC's we had around our town in the late seventies. It has a chrome gooseneck like a Schwinn, super heavy duty steel wheels, chrome "box" bars a Snowflake sprocket(like Mongoose)and a waffle type seat. It could even be early eighties seeing that some bikes were way behind times still back then. It is made sloppily weld wise on the frame(but I seem to remember cheap CYC bikes being like that too?)

another weird thing about this bike- thier are traces of blue paint inside the frame gusset and at a few other hidden areas. I dont think it was sold as a blue bike though. the forks are original and so are the stickers over chrome. I think whoever made these bikes stripped off the blue AND perhaps someone else's name decals(other dept stores etc)for ther Team Cylce batch???

here's a CYC- similar looking frame...

could be. i have a CYC that looks just like your "team cycle"...even the reverse curved brake bridge. my CYC is/was blue-over-chrome (most of the blue is gone).

BITD, "team cycle" was more or less a generic line sold in department and hardware stores (around here, at least). some of their stuff was, indeed, relabeled namebrand stuff (viscount seats and 09 numberplates, for example).

Where do I get original CYC Stormer decals like these!? I put my vote in for these being the coolest decals on a bike I've ever seen!..

I think I will try to make my Team Cycle into a cool CYC Stormer...

i think it's a stormer with team cycle parts

That looks to be an early CYC Stormer with Three Arrows Chainring and only Team Cycle forks. Team Cycle (if I remember correctly) only marketed components like pads, forks, pedals, bars, seats, grips, etc. They were all Taiwan knockoffs of whatever was popular in the 12 month cycle before that.

I think you are right! Somebody probably bought the frame and built it up with Department store stuff.

Yup, that bike was built using other parts. My brother among most kids in the town I grew up from had those complete bikes.

Damn that red Stormer is really cool.... I agree Sean, the decals are cool.

The MXR like in the came with the Tange forks and other Shimano goodies were the "MX" had Astabula forks etc. That frame you have is a "later" version with the newer decals... Kinda like the Black Panther era...
