I seem to have a "thing" with stuck seatposts....
The Foiler also has a cracked seat tube(at the top)
That will be fixed very soon...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I've never met a Bill Bastian product that I didn't love. PK's, Foilers, Race Inc's, FMF. They all give me wood.

Question: How can you tell the difference between the FMF,Cycle Pro Foiler, and the Race inc's? The top teardrop tube ones all look identical?
BRIAN HAYS
OK, There weren't any teardrop top tubed FMF's to my knowledge. The teardrop top tube was originally specific to the CP Foiler but there were some Race Inc RA7's that ended up with these tubes glued on them. It seems Bastian had a knack for using whatever tubibg was available at that exact minute in time (ala the round top tube PK's and JU6's). I'm sure this was the case with the teardrop top tube also. These frames ( FMF, CP, Race Inc and others)were all the same and there were always FMF diamond dropouts and FMF front gussetts with the oval hole getting glued on Race Incs so there is no real way to tell these frames apart if the original decals are gone. Here's a picture of my teardrop top tube Race Inc RA7. It's got the standard Race Inc dropouts, RA serial number (which is odd in itself) and the short seat stay gusset behind the seat tube, unlike the FMF's, CP Foilers and real early Race incs that have the longer gussett behind the seat tube. This has original paint and decals.

Nice Race-Inc Brian!!!!! That red frame of mine also has the serial # starting with RA... What does that mean??? Race-inc?????
BRIAN HAYS
That frame with diamond dropouts in the first picture?? Yes, if it has the RA serial number on the right rear dropout then it is a Race Inc RA7 with a teardrop top tube, not a CP Foiler. I kinda wondered because it looks like yours has the shorter gusset at the seat stay / seat tube union and all the actual Foilers had the longer gusset. Your frame just further strengthens what I was saying before. I've never seen a Race Inc frame that has diamond dropouts AND a serial number, but yours does. All my RA7 frames that have diamond drops have no serial number. If yours has the RA serial number then it is definately a Race Inc as the Foilers never had any serial numbers on them.

Ohh No !! What am i going to do with these then???
I also have a Cycle Pro bar pad too!!
It took me ages to hunt up this stuff...... I think that my frame may just end up a Cycle Pro Foiler now!!! Heh Heh

A mate of mine has some nos Race-Inc decals...
I'm thinking that now i might have to make it a Race-Inc once again.... I kinda hated hearing that it was a Race-Inc as i spent alot of $$$ getting the decals and bar pad...
BRIAN HAYS
Well, take comfort in the fact that the Race Inc is rarer that the Foiler. If you want to sell the decals and pads let me know, as I have two Foilers, or if you want maybe we could trade the Race Inc for one of my Foiler frames. Email me at brianhaysbmx@yahoo.com if interested. I happen to have a Foiler that is faded red ano that is in good shape but has a crack at the front of the right chainstay.

If you need any seatpost removal tips.

the RA stands for Race Inc - Aluminum
On the RM frames - Race Inc ChroMoly

hey Brian.....Karl has a diamond drops bastard Race inc in his collection....It's the RA-8 with near a 20 inch TT....ON A MINI FRAME!!!

oh, would ya lookie there...leading edge forks again....
BRIAN HAYS
I'd love to see pics of that one Karl has. He told me to call him but I didn't because I ran out of $$$ and didn't want to waste his time.

Four sets of leading edge forks and counting. I'm looking for a 5th set for my JU. Watching the set that Haney has on ebay.
