Wow, I found an old bike dealer today in the middle of nowhere. Not much 80'sbmx (though I did find a mcs cruiser, a haro mini, a dyno freestyle frame and a Hutch ten speed looking f/f. ( dont think it was a hanabrink). But, there were Schwinn Stingrays everywhere. Before Tim starts pm me, they were all avaerage 40 year old shape, but in one room alone, i counted 30 frames in a row! What do you look for on these things? I know nothing about them, and dare I ask the no no question, What would YOU think is a fair price on a frame?

I found some NOS MINT Schwinn Stings, 2 Frame and Fork combo's and another Frame and Fork said COMP on it but looked exactly like the Stings .. I wonder the same thing you do ... The guy said there not cheap.

To the guy who pm'd me, thanks for some great info.

Kevin, I'll keep that in mind. he was still setting up his new venture and says this was just what was in his yard! He's still a few days out. He did mention ebay, so he aint stupid, and did say most his bmx stuff left in one big lot a while back, but I did find a z rim, and saw some metal mags that I didnt recoginize. I'll keep ya posted!

You look for the 5-speed brake bracket behind the seat post tube and the sn on the head or left drop out. The number will tell you the year. 5-speed frames of the right year are worth big $.
