Here's my R&R CR-1 survivor type bike. Before I do a final build I like to pre-build my bikes so I don't run into any problems after having the frame painted. Ashtabula cranks and stem, box bars, Hunt Wilde grips, 105 g wheels w/coaster brake. When this one get a re-paint I'm probably going to go with the Candy Apple Red that I have seen on these.

Doesn't even look like it NEEDS a refinish! Sweet

Looks done to me too. Maybe change the seat. Those are knobbie tires right? My philosophy is don't change it if it isn't rusted out or painted over. You should see the original finish on my JMC. Not too good, but better than a repowder IMHO. Nice rides.

sk8,
Yep, Cheng Shin knobbies. Thats a quilted messinger style seat. Just curious, what would you change it to?

It looked like a new school seat from here. I like quilts.
Lonny Lierley
I want one of those!

I'd like to be the 10th guy to beg you not to refinish it!
Randy
Put a square numberplate and some vinyl pads on it, leave it alone.

SUPER SWEET !!!!!!! and I must add another vote to leave it just like it is !!! many of my bikes are built like this.
shinburger
Mine came with a seat just like that.
Please do not refinish. It looks cool just like that.

If your gonna ride it around though make sure you have a nice LONG seat post in it those seat mast break really easy.
AZquadrider
I like it just the way it is, I think survivors are the way to go.
TIM
why would you remove the original finish?????

geeez....
FL BMX COP
Tim,
Not the original finish. The pics make it look better than is actually is. Doesn't really look like a pray can job, but not a very good paint job if someone did it professionally.

I sold that frame on eBay. I made the paper "stickers".
The paint is spraybomb from the previous (original) owner. The color is close to a factory color that was seen in the full page ads for that frame.

I've got one of the original springer seats that R&R shipped them with as reviewed in the first BMXA magazine (first issue)
