as you know got myself a mongoose villain today [to stave off excitement untill i get busy with a project]
and it 'seems' to be heavyer than the bikes bitd..... is this true or is my memory 'gloryifiying' the past?
AndyT
IMHO - heavier

It is more hi-ten steel than cro-mo steel
It is freestyle not race so built for beef
48 spokes -vs- 36 spokes

depends on the year, i guess. my 93/94 (?) one was made of 1020 hi-ten steel, but wasn't heavy at all. especially compared to my s&m ng dirtbike.
at one point, i even put on a gt bashguard to make it a bit heavier.

later models were overbuilt (just like most frames in the late 90s) and ugly as sin.
