what is it ?? have you sold stuff on there ? i have bought all the shyt to set me up on OS BMX on ebay .... ALL OF IT ! 3 pk's , skyway , next will be a quad (love a looptail ,2 on there last week)
its only EVILBAY if the seller does'nt accept paypal . PAYPAL is the sellers worst nightmare , i sell wakeboard gear , not a problem coz im an honest seller , but if someone is going to be a crook , they will on 99% of cases not accept paypal !
i have got a few contacts thru here for stickers and stuff , we are all in this together , we are all doin the thang , all here for the old school . ALL GOOD !!!!!
ebay apart from being the biggest rip on seller fees ever for sellers + they own paypal too .... its still the best place to pic up a F&F .

eg .... 55yr old man , has a son who has no passion for bmx anymore has a 79 loopy quad in his shed , lists it as a quadRangle instead of a quadangle , as everyone is putting in "quadangle" as a search word ....we scoop the demon for $400 inc a smick set o unstamped LG'S .

Gee, it's funny

BITD, When I was a child I gobbled up as much BMX as I could get. Of course, since I had no income except for a paper route, most stuff I got was through mom & dad. I knew of all the high end BMX gear cause I was surrounded by all the other kids with killer bikes and all these new parts while I was riding second s**t.

TODAY, I am employed and stable and BMX has had a new breath of life that has fired my imagination all the way back to my childhood. The nostalgia is tremendous and almost has me feeling as though I'm reliving my youth. Only now, I have some money to spend and I could prob put together one of my distant dream bikes from BITD.

REALIZATION, prices have become just as unreachable as the 80's and more. Add in the fact that there is always a ****ing [I tried to curse] looking to make a sucker out of you. "Especially on Evil Bay"
It very quickly leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth, often discouraged enough to want to step right back out of the hobby as it is not worth the frustration.

Still holding on for now!

that is not true about sellers that dont acept pay pal.....
my wife sells all my stuff on ebay w over 100 poss transaction, w/100% feed back, pay pal is a scam.... you should look at the persons feed back not the pay pal aceptance???
why would i give somone my profit to be a broker
for somthing i can do????
to call somone dishonst because they dont acept
pay pal is like saying your a loser because you ride and se and not a redline. or saying 99% of se riders
are dishonst because that is the brand of bike you choose....

are dishonst because that is the brand of bike you choose.... we have been screwed by pay pal more than once, we sold a hood on ebay, the guy paid for it on pay pal, he received hood via freight truck,
he canceled his credit card, stating it was not what he wanted, mine was listed as a 2 door, he did not know it would not fit his 4 door, so he claimed it was wrong, and was not sending it back because of freight cost about 125.00. so pay pal pulled my money out, and left him with the hood...he got my hood for free.......
i was out over 350.00 for a loser... things are not always what they seem........

It is evil.
It hurts collector/hobby communities because people "flip it on the bay" for max profit rather than hook up their fellow enthusiasts for reasonable profit

I rarely buy from eb because usually a better deal can be found locally or thru plain old-fashion talking to people.

But on the other hand it can also be good... I have sold tons-o-stuff on eb, that otherwise would have gone to trash or scrap.

Agree.
I do not like paypal. As seller I only use it for auctions I expect to be under $25

YOU GET ME WRONG GUYS , my ebay name is WAKECOM , i sel wake gear obviously , not $5 sprockets but $450 boards sometimes . paypal pays the buyer his cash as soona as hes cries "NOT RECIEVED" .

have a bit of belief in paypal my friends !!!!!!

its geared towards the buyer 900%
OZZYBMX
paypal is against ME !!!! im a seller , BUT an honest one who cares about his buyers , if i sell to you , I WILL DELIVER < YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR !!!!
OZZYBMX
bro , you buy something from the UK , the dickhead says bankdraft only , the sale is $5.20 with $10 postage, it costs $26 to do a bank transfer so the total is $40+bucks , for a $5 item !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is when you file a formal complaint with the proper authorities and contact PayPal via telephone and talk to a real person!A similar thing happenned to me and they issued me a courtesy refund!

money order is better? Please! Why send non-refundable money orders to a seller who for all you know could be dishonest. Theres no storefront, I can't tell shmo47 from goodguy93 except for feedback, which isn't entirely reliable. A lot of us have had items never arrive. Paypal is the price you pay for safe trusted transactions. As a buyer I've only done money order once because I acidentally bid on an item without checking payment options. had a nervous feeling about the transaction from the start. All worked out well but I'd lke to buy without the nervous feeling.

definately mate if you're buying , you are covered 100% paying by paypal . i am an ebay seller with nearly 400 feedback , bought a ripper f&f off the bay from a guy (name not disclosed until the payment is returned) was mad keen to get this bike , checked his feedback , all good , he has ripped me off for $420 .... you kinda miss that chunk of cash ???

first time ever .... western union money order !

he would not accept paypal even if i paid the fees !

set alarm bells ringing BUT he sounded a good guy .... wrong

That statement couldn't be any further from the truth. If tracking information is provided by the seller you have a 50/50 chance at best if they send you a misrepresented item.

Case in point.I bought a wireless network card from Ebay and promptly paid via PP.The guy took a very long time and didn't send it.When I filed a complaint with PayPal he decided it would be funny to send me an empty box via USPS Priority mail with tracking information.PayPal said that the item was shown as being delivered.End of story.I tried explaining that the guy sent me an empty box but they didn't give a dang!

There are tons of loophools in the Ebay/PP system and alot of people that know how to take advantage! The safest bet for US buyers and sellers is to use Postal Money Orders as they have a built in security feature being that if the item bought is mis-represented or does noy arrive the transaction can usually be considered as postal fraud and will be investigated by the USPS Inspectors Office!

I am currently going through a situation with a P.K. Ripper frameset I purchased. I sent the seller the money through Pay Pal on April 5 and after a multitude of excuses, as of Friday, April 21st he e-mailed me saying he STILL has not shipped it. Now, mind you, I realize that sometimes things come up in a person's life where they can't just hurry down to the post office and drop off an item for shipment, but when nearly 3 weeks passes and the item hasn't even been shipped yet, there is NO EXCUSE for this, in my opinion. I e-mailed the seller and let him know this and I demanded a refund. I am still waiting.....

well mate , that is an honest seller !!!!!!

so feekin slack and honest that after 3 weeks he is still saying he has not shipped it ! maybe he is just plain stoopid , nevertheless , just send him a few coaching emails telling him that once you have paid the next step is to SEND THE ITEM , you never know , you might actually get it .

could be worse ..... he could have said he sent 3 weeks ago , and have you waiting for the posties knock for weeks and weeks ..... not nice !

I got duped twice , once for a record the guy in germany claimed he sent , even though I PP him &n he got my money . Twice just recently i PP a guy in Jersey for another record & NOTHING AFTER 2 MONTHS ! I checked the feedback & a couple of buyers stated that this seller was slow on the shipping . I didn't give him a negative feedback Bcause all this will do is make the seller "retaliate " & negative you back . my feedback is @ 299 W/ "only " 2 negatives , one was a retaliation & the other was one my brother who won an auction using my name W/o my knowledge BITD ca.'98 & he never paid it . I think pP is worth it as it's convienent , as a seller I'd much rather use PP B cause sometimes a buyer may not communicate that they are sending you a M.O. & you are a sitting duck just waiting for a payment of some sort . Sell stuff you know will bring in decent money ! I'm not gonna sell a record or CD that will pull $5 , not worth it which is why I post the more rare items that I know will fetch more . Ebay is NOT a free service & it does cost bucks to host all that stuff , try renting a table @ your local flea market & see if you do better

Yea paypal can be a real PITA sometimes
but being able to TRACK someone EASILY is well worth the horrible fee's Paypal charges

Paypal is totaly for the buyer but in the 500+ sales transactions (car parts) in the last 5 years i only had one bad customer

Luckily he had me send it to his work address so paypal told him to effe off
hahaha

Unfortunately Im way across the pond from Vintage bmx ground zero. Scoring gd oldschool American made parts and bikes is hard, well even BITDs. Im very dependant on Ebay for parts I need, well of course u guys helped a fair deal too.

Update: Yesterday, my frameset finally arrived and thankfully it was just as described. I was seriously worried that I was going to get burned and have to go through the credit card company to recover my funds. I recently got burned on a car stereo I purchased, so I was more than a little paranoid that it was about to happen again. Good thing this had a happy ending!
