Alan McCorkle
NOS Titron magnesium hubs with titanium axles and original Titron decals - hand made in 1980-81. All components except the bearings and axle nuts are hand-made.

NOS Titron cages in yellow - the lettering and teeth on the cages are acid etched and were hand-made one at a time - also from 1980-81. The etching was done by a circuit board manufacturing company in Pennsylvania.

Wow.

Awesome stuff!

ditto......(insert hen's teeth reference here)
RandyS
Straight outa GV.
Alan McCorkle
RandyS...you mean straight outta Lemont, PA. I assume you are referring to Bear Development and John Owens?
Alan McCorkle
BTW...I live in Fairfield and I will be at the race on Saturday.
RandyS
I don't even remember much about it, I thought Bear and Titron were the same thing. They ran ads together and the "Bear" on the cages is Owens logo.
Alan McCorkle
Bear Development was just a reseller for Titron and there was no other relationship between the companies. Bear Development was the only reseller to ever advertise Titron components in the magazines but Titron had their own ads that were very different from the Bear Dev ads and they did not sell direct. I will have to ask about the logo lettering because the Titron logo was in existence in 1979 or earlier and Bear Development was not around until 1980 (at least not as a bicycle reseller and race team). Bear Development was also a real estate/land development company.

BTW...more pics of more goodies coming tomorrow morning after the UPS man arrives.

Most of the Hutch components (except Aero-Speeds) are original Titron designs that were sold to Hutch under an OEM agreement. Richard Hutchins eventually bought-out Titron in late 1981 and hired the owner to be the Production Manager/Designer.

Most impressive! I didn't know they made hubs too.
dayride
Alan, I am begining to wonder if you have the designers from Titron caged up somewhere making parts for you. Great stuff.
RandyS
Alan,

Is Noel cutting loose with the stuff they had left. I tried to get to it a few years ago and he wouldn't bite. And if so might you know the whereabouts of one shiny little 16" rarity made in Chatsworth?
sk8bones
Killer stuff Alan!!! I'm gonna have to get with you on those axles. Here's my Titrons after a major hookup.
Alan McCorkle
Randy, I can't say I know anything about the 16 incher but the rest of what Noel had is now in my garage.

The mag hubs and cages came directly from the source, Bill Grove. Check back tomorrow for a couple more items including one that even I have not seen before.

Jon...yeah...I am actually holding Bill hostage at his shop but the cool thing is that he will do anything for beer.

Randy..are you coming to Roseville?
Chevron Envy
OH MY.......unbelieveable!
NFR5111
wow....super cool stuff Alan!
Thanks again for the axles, btw!!
RandyS
Alan, Good job, Rich from TR2 had the frame but I thought he said he gave it back to Jeff Painter. It was a 16" Squareback with a large downtube like a Proline. Jeff swears he got it in 76 but everyone that's seen it thinks it must have been Redline Jon Andersons because it's unlike any other one. No ser #. I tried everything I could to get it for Bill Curtin but they wouldn't let go. I'm not sure I want to know but my curiosity is killing me to find out what has been sitting in a garage a mile from me all these years. Yes I'll be at Scotts shop for sure, maybe at the track.
Alan McCorkle
oh yeah...I forgot all about those Tom...thks for the wheels too! I thought you were just sending rims and you sent the whole wheel...NOS...no less. If I never use 'em and sell 'em I'll be sure to send some $$$ your way because that was a bro deal for sure.

I don't believe those are Alan's goods on page one....if they were REALLY Alan's, they would have been photographed on a black craftsman toolbox?

Cool, cool stuff Alan

LMAO! Good point Tom. Isn't it funny how we all kind of take pics in the same place over and over again...like Chris Baron's garage door. I am currently assembling a top-secret project in an undisclosed location so the toolbox was unavailable as a backdrop. I will have to take a picture of just the toolbox for this purpose.

Stay tuned...more to come!
Keep_It_Warm
Yep! VBMX classics:

Your toolbox, Barons garage, Haneys checker tile, Ray Beards slat-wall Fortress of Solitude, Reilley's bright yellow work stand, TIM's funky stucco half-wall, Hal's sock drawer, etc....
