I haven't really paid much attention to Race Inc sales. Do they bring crazy money like $1K for a frame/fork or a more reasonable $300-$500, if that? Nice looking bikes but nothing too special IMHO.

That is the only buyer I know that would probably give 4k for those bikes. Heck, Huntcart might even throw in a bango!

Stop the madness.. In all seriousness Dave, your friend's best bet would be to skip this thread and go straight to e-bay.
Also, please try to convince him to sell them separately, he will make so much more money.
Nothing but jokesters in this thread.
If he lists them at .99c each, no reserve, he will get the results he is looking for.
Better yet, he should just keep them. he'll regret selling them later..

Retrodave, Your freind realizes that all the $4000 offers were a joke, right? I'm no self proclaimed expert but from what I see those bikes are worth about $300 each. I'm not trying to upset him, but I hope he understands that or he will be sorely disappointed for sure. The chance of selling them together is pretty slim. Just my worthless 2 cents worth.
retrodave
Apr 20 2006, 08:28 PM
Mr. Hays I know this too. But telling other people this is somtimes hard. Idont think he will take it toooo hard. I am going to put them on e-bay for him. He will not seperate them though.

i don't get the resistance to separate the bikes for sale. obviously he can do whatever the hell he feels like doing, but frankly, it's dumb. the result will be him selling at a pretty deep discount out of some misguided thinking about "keeping them together", then the buyer will most certainly turn right around, combine the best of the two bikes into one really nice bike, and sell/part out the leftovers for a nice profit.
they ain't orphans, they're bikes. the blue one's pretty sweet, the red one has a cool MCS stem. they're going to get chopped and parted out.

ok fellas i've had enough of all the "play the joke on the newbie" stuff i will settle for what is truly fair for them and before i do i will dig up a shop manual that has some info on the bikes and the company who made them. i understand that 4k was i joke so i played along for a while to test you guys that would be honest about the value of them. at a later time when i've done more homework on them i will split them up; and yes i know whoever buys them will probably chop it for frame/parts to make a nicer one. i kinda thought that they would make a nice addition to someones collection if one already had a red one or a black chro moly one. i don't seriously collect bmx like all of you i stick to the 1920's to 1960's schwinn stuff and do restorations on them. this was a learning experience as well as fun no ill will towards anybody here and thanks for all the suggestions. if ya still want them or one of them pm me or e-mail me.
