I thought that I would strip the freestyle Quad frame that I had hanging from 2112. You rock Brett.
Here it is before the paint stripper..(remember you can click on my pics for larger views)

Little hint of the original color.

Factory top tube patch.

Help me I'm melting.

Bubble... bubble...

First coat came out pretty good.

Like the Black over Purple over Aqua???

This one makes kind of a cool background.

That's it for now. Just thought that I would share. Just say yes to paint stripper and no to sand blasting. It is cool to see the sweat marks from the torch. I am not even close to this project so no tellin what color it will end up. I don't think I can do Aqua though. We'll see...

No tellin what color I will go with. I really like unusual. This was factory Aqua. I just don't feel Aqua. Anti-Freeze green maybe?

This is a late '85 Reynolds frame Jon. The chromoly frame that is identical is early on in this frame design. '83 usually. The round brake bridge is the last step of the path for this frame. SE then went to the Chromoly frames where the rear stays go past the seat tube. I have a post here somewhere with a little time frame info with pics.
Where's Brian?

Yep, stripper is best if possible. Some powder coated frames need a little more, but if blasting is needed I use glass beads, not sand. You want to move as little metal as possible. Plastic media is even better, been thinking about trying some out.
Nice frame ya got there!

If you have time and a lot of old socks
use acetone (nail polish remover)
i dont think it will owrk to well on powder though
