Can you tell me more detail of your film project? And what does it entail in regards to the T/A?

You know, basic Hollywood stuff, Explosions, Fire, Monster Trucks, Car Crushers, Cliffs....

Maybe Super Dave will take it for a run down the track. LOL!!!!!!

I'd be more concerned about someone ruining my T/A that cost me considerable money to restore. I haven't ridden it since restoration, and I don't think I'd want anyone else to do so. Besides, there's no assurance or insurance in case there is theft or damage.

I like to see a Skyway Lake jump in the film!

hey
no explosions no bike crashes- but I understand the concern,
it's a short film about a 10 year old boy that takes place in Miami in the 80's, it's more of an Art Film that revolves around 80's culture, and I am trying to stay true to the vision,
the Skyway seems to be the ultimate 80's BMX, but can't find a bike to rent anywhere and can't afford to purchase one, the boy just rides the bike in a couple of scenes and we see it in the background in a couple of scenes, and I'm pretty sure we could insure it as well. I just think it's a super cool bike and it would be awesome to have one in the film.
thanks-linda

uh, Skyways are really nice, but it's not ultimate 80's BMX.

My T/A is at BMX Museum, and I got the same user name as here. Sorry Isena, no can do. I don't even ride my bike, why would I let anyone else? Get a Mongoose Supergoose, or try to get the ET Kuwahara. Those are really the "ultimate 80s BMX".

Im pretty sure the letters SE were on the headtubes of the ultimate 80s BMX bikes...

You could start a war trying to figure out the "ultimate 80's BMX". So many come to mind, but yes, SE would have to be at the top for gods sake.

Looptail PK is the ultimate 80s BMX bike. That was like the "Ferrari" of BMX bikes. I like the JMCs, but I didn't see them growing up during the 80s. If you think about it, the Skyway T/A kind of copied the JMC's tear drop shaped tubes and the bladed forks.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested borrowing one from the TGI wall. Also, I think it would be highly appropriate to ask what exact year in the 1980's are we talking about here? Come on darksiders, where's your rides?

I'd be suspicious that someone is trying to scam a bike here fella's.

If it works I want to borrow a Haro Freestyler and an SE Quad please.

Man...give her a break...she wants a Skyway. Nothing wrong with that! And I only have SE bikes.

How do you know a filmmaker is lying ?
Their lips are moving.
Do not give them a micron , let alone a break. Else they will rob you blind & take advantage of your good nature.
Get a minium $3000 cash bond up front & ask for a minium of $400 a day rental for the bike & supervisor (you) It costs a lot to sit around & waste your time.
If she wants the bike so badly she can work her shooting schedule around it.
Or get a vague grip on reality & give a 10yr old kid from the burbs a mid range "bike shop bike" with some Haro levers etc added onto it.

A Skyway TA XL with Bottema's would be a standout bike , but if you want to the visual impact of a standout bike from the 1980's you can't go past a Quadangle.

You _really_ don't want to mess with the Best Boy
on a film set , else he takes his Electricity , tools etc with him & goes home leaving you in the dark...Been there done that have the scalps to prove it.

If you buy a T/A for the film, you'll have no trouble reselling it when you're done and getting your money back. Housing may be cooling off, but BMX is not!
