DMG. That's Plexiglass on that house...sorry, the analogy won't work. Somehow the phrase "People who live in Plexiglass houses should not throw stones" just doesn't have the same zing...

Dung flies are only interested in money...

Besides, when you throw rocks at plexiglass houses, the rocks have a nasty tendency to bounce back at you

Randy. To me telling someone. "Hey if that deal falls through look me up" is alot different than saying I will give you 1200.00 or whatever for that frameset if you sell it to me. Forget the winner of the auction. Sell it to me. Know what I mean? I know that many people were in on that and Brian was not the one that went for the money vein. Brian has thing thing called passion. Brian wanting a looptail Quad is not just because it is a fad. He may regret doing it but he wasn't looking to under mind anyone. Man what people would pay to see the list of people that wanted a piece. Make double from some to not be on the list I bet. I can tell you one person that wasn't there. Cheers to the winner.

I got $100.00 to add to the pot. It's money well spent IMO. If they got the nuts to pull the behind the back E Bay stuff, then the nuts shouldn't shrink and they should be able to hold their own and face the music!!!
Beau take our money, post the list, and donate 15% of it to your charitable cause. WIN/WIN/WIN situation!!!!

Hey Beau,
I'm increasing my offer to $50 putting you clear over $300. That's more than the value of the auction!
Why not take the money? Seriously, you don't have anything to lose by protecting these guys. If you're afraid those guys won't bid on your auctions if you expose them, think about all the new buyers you gain by:
- Doing the right thing on the original deal.
- Showing the community you respect future business by helping us all out.
WIN/WIN/WIN/WIN!!!!
Pat, you have left out the KEY fact in all 4 of your posts defending Brian/Newguy/Smokin Endo...
he told the seller he'd pay MORE than the winning bid "if the auction fell through". MORE. not the winning bid. MORE.
a not so subtle nudge to get any seller thinking. come on, Pat, nobody here is naive.

Tim. Brian offered 300.00 if the deal fell through. IF the deal fell through. Not take my money instead of his.
That isn't even in the same ballpark as I will give you 1,000 to tell everyone else to go blow.
Right on. Knees knocking out there.
Like was already said. You got the marbles to try and take the deal then you shouldn't be scared to be outed. Tim already said that he could call a pretty tight list. I beleive that one. Wouldn't be really surprises. Just more like verification of.
Verification and vilification, very fine line your all walkin!

Ok,
I spoke with Brian. Yes, Brian did offer $300 for the frameset. Keep in mind, I was p***ed at him for his involvement with this whole thing and made it very clear. Brian made it clear that his $300 backup offer consisted of the following:
- original price of the closed auction
- cost to ship the bike with tracking, insurance, Priority speed
- reimbursement to the seller's out of pocket expense for the auction fees.
Now, some may think this was still underhanded, but it's clear Brian would pick the deal up for par. Par/break even.
I also know Brian is aggressive and does deals (I have bought/sold/traded with him several times). Reason why I say this because why offer only $50 over? Hell, he knows that if he offeres $500 (double the price), he stills has $1,000 of profit in the deal.
He's involved in a real cluster f+ck and I'm going to stand by his intent....... intent was not to snake the deal from out under.

Another funny thing about those frames is that some of the weld quality is pretty freakin sub par. SE was scrambling at the time. They are without a doubt like NOTHING else. I get the draw. Not many around.
I still think that they are one of the sweetest frames of all time. They always fit me perfectly. I was young on my looptails. All bikes were small. I still missed the feel of the banana seat on my Scrambler. Ha ha ha. By the time I was riding my Reynolds' Quads I didn't think of how small they were. I am roughly six foot and I am still very comfortable on those framesets.

Not to hit the hornets nest with a broomstick, but wasn't it said not too many pages back (on his behalf) that he was looking for a looptail quad? If so, why would he profit from this?

By the way Beau, if this deal pooches and you're stuck with the fame, give me a holla'. I'll make you a better offer on that frame than any of the other moogs in this thread.

Just for the Record ! I was not trying to snake anyone ! This is not my way and the guys who know me know this !
For starters I want to say sorry to the original buyer for all the problems, I feel horrible ! I have learned a very difficult lesson here and will probably be judged by many who don't know me for a long time.
When I saw the listing on eBay I sent the buyer a message and said Hey if that guy doesn't pay for the QuadAngle I'll give you $300 for it Thanks
And that's it ! Nothing else !
I never contacted him after that ! Ask him !
Just a few things I want to clear up too
I wasn't hiding from this issue and I would have addressed it much earlier but I was REAL sick for two days and didn't have any idea this was going on till someone contacted me this morning. I went to the site and was about to respond when we lost our power (I know this sounds far-fetched but it's the truth) after waiting six hours for them to get my neighbors modular home in place, get my power back up, read all the dirt that's been fling around on two sites and tending to my two children this is the first time I had a chance to respond.
Secondly Thank You to the people who are sticking by my side till the smoke clears and getting my back till I could make it on here
And Lastly I will also pay $10 to see the list and hear the FULL STORY here !
Beau You outed me and I was the only honorable acting offer you received on that bike so COME WITH THE SCUM ! My offer was based on the assumption that the original buyer didn't pay and I doubt that was the case with many which I totally disagree with !

I talked to Brian on the phone this morning & he was in the dark. I didn't explain much & he told me the same story. I totally believe him & he's always been a real cool guy. When have you ever heard a bad thing about him? Waiting....ok back to the story. He also sent me the original Email & it's exactly what Pat said. In no way the same story as Beau.

Are you talking about Brian? Brian wasn't looking at the turn value. He was looking at it like maybe if it were meant to be then maybe it would happen. I know Brian and he would give his left --- for a looptail Quad if he still had one. It is in his blood. Not a check book thing.

Not taking any sides, but. Some times things are what they seem. I've been offered more money than the winning bidder. No harm or foul. Just someone saying that they wll buy my product if the winner does'nt pay up. I would never do what beau did. That is low. A man is only as good as his word. If there is a list . LET'S SEE IT ALREADY..... I'll even put my $10.00 dollars back in the pot. I think it's getting close to $400.00 now?

If someone says they would offer more than the winning bid did then why the heck don't they just bid on it then? It makes no sense! The threads about this on both sites are getting old. My JMC stuff is up for sale, who wants to screw each other on the set of absolute mint FAB bars that is on it?

I still think Beau is fabricating this whole story about a list. And what Brian did was not that big of a deal. This whole mess came from Beau snakin' that dude from his quad. He drops info about a bunch of dudes from here to turn the subject towards them, and it has seemed to work.
I'll make a list if anyone is interested in paying 3 bills!!
Beau
Apr 6 2006, 09:42 PM
Fabricated a list hunh? Like I said before, I NEVER knew this thread was going until I started getting all kinds of offers and people telling me I sold it for a lot less than it's worth.
I'M THE ONE THAT FIGURED OUT THAT THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A THREAD SINCE I GOT SO MANY EMAILS!!!! I CAME TO VBMX TO SEE IF THERE WAS ONE AND THERE WAS!!!
Is that clear now? I didn't mean to nit pick Brian what so ever. I provided his name to prove my gawd damn point.
No matter who it is, somone's gonna stick up for that person and say they are good people. No need for me to wreck a bunch of reputations so you guys can flame them and talk ****.
Sorry Brian to use you as an example, but it had to be done. I wanted to prove that very little good will come from providing a list. You all just proved it. I don't need to make enemies just for your pleasure.
It's very ironic that the same people who cut me down and called me scum (among other names), said they'd never buy anything from me, and wnated to block my ebay listings are now begging to give me money?
You guys are weird.
Again, sorry Brian. I just had to use you to prove my point. If you'd like, I will send you pics of a bunch of BMX stuff I have and send some to you just to prove I was not out to get you. Pm or email me and we'll talk.
Cheers all! I hope to have lots of other good stuff in a few more months too. I was actuall shocked at how many people also emailed and pm'd me about parts they need. At least some people can see through the BS that goes on here.
Time to go ride my bike...I'm done here, so give it up.

I emailed him and told him that he made the biggest ebay mistake ever and that I would have bid $1100 and probably lost. I never offered to buy it out from under the real buyer, but hoped that the deal would fall through from the buyer's side since the seller had some negative feedback. I never dreamed the seller would relist it. If memory serves me correct, the last set on ebay about 8 months ago went for $2200. I too, want to see a list since I admitted to what I did over at OS and got completely thrown under the bus. Maybe deservedly, but I do not think so. It isn't any different than "hey, want to end it early" other than I thought it would have no effect on the deal.

That list is about as real as the Loch Ness monster - come on guys - reality check!!!
Anyway - lesson learnt, everyone - the original buyer has what he paid for, the seller's reputation is in tatters, and a few others on here will look first before leaping next time.
Drama over - now back to the bikes.
