I need some help please sorting out the early CW models on the CW website as I am getting stuck.
I started riding in 85/86 so the early stuff is a bit before my time.

81-82 is the period I am interested in.

There are 3 models in particular I am not sure about.
CW Z
CW Z-1
CW ZR-1

Did the CW Z-1 exist? Or are people getting it mixed up with the CW ZR-1 ?

CW Z had the oval top tube not sure if the CW Z-1 and CW ZR-1 did?

Can anyone tell me anything about these models and what the differences are or what the serial numbers were? Any photos?

If anyone has any other scans or photos for the site you can email me on stuart@webemail.fsnet.co.uk

Many Thanks for your support.

Stuart.

Stu, do yuhave the 1982 (i think) issue of bmx plus where they test the ZR-1? Mike Miranda is doing all the riding. I wish I could scan it for you but my scanner hasnt worked since the hurricane.

PK Ripped no I don't have that issue but it sounds like the one I am looking for to explain some of this.

Perhaps I could scan it?

Anyone else have any information these early Z models?

Cheers

Andy, I agree.

One of my biggest rivals was CW's Tony Denham back in 1981.

I dug CW's Mike Miranda (amateur time period) and Andy Zirzow in 1981 too.

Not heard of Tony Denham, perhaps I should add him to the list of CW factory team riders on the site.

I know of one magazine pic of Tony Denham in Super BMX magazine.
It was coverage of the 1981 Jag 500 at Costa Mesa, Ca.
It's a color pic of him and John Anderson (Red Line) on the first jump.
Tony's wearing jeans.

Here's a pic of me in first and Tony Denham in second
