Hi, new here.

Great website, especially the museum! I looked but couldn't find any pics of a bike I used to have.

It was purchased at a Military PX and was a chrome BMX Mongoose with yellow seat & pads. For some reason, I keep thinking it was a "blue max", if they sold any of those in yellow. It was puchased in the mid-80's I think.

Can anyone help me locate a pic? I may even be interested in buying one, if it's in decent condition.

Thanks!

It was a Blue Max. It had no gussett, chrome with all gold annodized parts. I had two friends who were brothers who got those for Christmas in 1984. I havent seen a picture of those in quite awhile.

i have the 84 no-gussett blue max you speak of. chrome f/f with blue decals. unfortunatally, it is only a frameset at this time. i have no current plans to build it at this point either. i would perhaps let it go for the right price. email me directly for pics.

Right on, thanks guys!

PK Ripped has it right... gold anodized parts! And 1984 sounds about right also. For some reason I just can't picture the decals in yellow, especially after seeing those great blue "blue max" pics posted above.

Would sure like to find one, but would have to be yellow!

Even with the gold parts, they all had the same color blue stickers seen above. I remember the blue ones too, way more common.

CZ, buy a good solid frame/fork and build it up like you remember it. Sounds like a great project. DOnt think anyone has done it either.
