From the photo's the welding on it looks a little rough to be a Japanese made frame from the 1980's it may be an early Taiwanese import (speculating)
Where is the frame number stamped & is the Koizumi "baseball" logo or any other factory logo stamped into the frame near the number. ?
I never saw an imported bike with a P cut out of the head gusset bitd , on the good side there dosen't look like there is any chain guard tab hanging off the BB , so it can't be all bad

the frame number is stamped under the crank and there are no other markings.

I think Puch had that gusset.
Bike Crazy.
I have almost same bike in the garage, the welding is rough, same forks, front has lion cut out, and its a Peugot. Also the number is under the cranks. Peugot/England, seems about right, maybe?

Thruster made Puch's frame & forks in the early 1980's , with pretty welds, triple nicel plated finish & other drooly features...
It is very tempting to blame the French , but, to be fair they have a passion & good history with bikes in general plus they would probably use lug joins on any BMX frames they built in the 1980's in France.
Maybe a search thru this archive for prosight may turn up a picture , are there any brand names on the original parts of the bike other than Tange forks , like brake calipers , cranks rear wheel hub & rim , the pats should tell a bit more about where it originated from , name brand Japan no name Taiwan , odd mix of names US made tho it dosen't seem like a US made frame...
