Picked it up last night. On the bottom bracket it has DSBM and C20183 which I think is a local registration number and 40105472. Chrome, looks mostly original. Pictures when I get it cleaned up.

Is it an 85 model?

Redline really has no "code" to their serial #'s. So I've been told. I know after '85 they started making trimoly frames. But, if it's a 500a it's probably an '84 or '85. Though the 4 in the serial may indicate '84.

Also, does it have any numbers on the rear drop out? I've had 2 that have had GT like serials including the ones on the BB. Hope this helps.

Since it has no numbers on the dropouts it is a early 500a 84-85. They added numbers on the dropouts later. Not sure when though.
