Made some subtle changes to my Moosegoose today. Installed NOS super long Ashtabula crank (had Profiles on it before), Gold "Track Certified" pedals (certified by who?) , Gold Dirt Skirt, and an early DK inverted stem (had a Powerlite stem on it before). I like it!

Here's a before shot (I know, not a huge difference!)

Kind of a toss up of wether I like the moose or the impalla better. Cool and great job!

....that is sweet rumblerdave.....I want to ride it.....I want to do some wheelies on it.....
rumblerdave
Yeah, the Moose's are wheelie machines!
Moosegoose Nick
SWEET!!!! I like the way the Tuff's look on it. Hmmm, a set of Graphites may be my next purchase.
I like painted Moose's. Chrome is cool, but the way the paint comes alive in the sun is awesome.
Are the Ashtabula's the 7 1/2's? I have a set on one of mine, and I love the way they feel.
rumblerdave
Yep, Nick, those are the 7 1/2 inch Ashtabulas. I'd put them on all my bikes if I could find them!

The old Mongoose paint over nickel/chrome is probably my favorite finish of all time, for any bike. It really glows when the light hits it right! It really gets pretty fragile with age though. Chips and flakes easily. Has anyone successfully recreated this finish?
rumblerdave
Oh, by the way these "Track Certified" pedals SUCK!
Way too small, and they feel like I'm going to break them. Anybody got something that's "era correct" that would look good on the Moose? Maybe a DX type, big platform pedal? In gold, red, silver....

She's a real beauty!!!!!!!!!!! Cool ole' car too.

Nick seeing those pics is equalivent to a fox walking into a henhouse......lol
rumblerdave
Hey Nick, have you ever checked the serial numbers on your herd of Mooses to see how far apart they are, production wise? I wonder how many Mooses were made, total.
Moosegoose Nick
Dave, I know what you mean about the Ashtabula's. I had them BITD and am sitting on 2 NOS in the bag pairs for future builds.I also have a set on my Black and Purple Moose.
I just bought a set of the Shimano SX pedals for one of my Moose's. I kept getting outbid on the DX's so I went with the next best thing. Now to get the Flights re-conditioned.
I'll check the serial #'s on my Moose's and post them. Will do tomorrow on this thread, am gettin ready for work right now.
