I was out in the bike room today sorting through parts & stuff (you know- what to keep, what to Ebay, what to take to Rockford!) when I realised I have enough parts to do a pretty cool build on my 1981 nickel Mongoose I've had hanging around! This is just a mock-up I did to see what it's gonna look like. Whaddya think? I like it. Any advice, suggestions, insults?

I'm gonna fully polish the frame, get new decals & everything. I'll post more pics when it's done. I still think the original Goose frames are one of the best looking frames ever made. Later! Dave Square Pro Neck, dig those crazy MX grips!
Alternate parts choices? Hmmm... Arayas or Z-rims? Stock Goose fork or NOS Tange 1200 fork? Pro Neck or MCS stem?

I would go with the Tange forks. And maybe cut back some with all the blue stuff on it.

i'd definitely use a silver seatpost instead of the blue one and either a silver handlebar to match the forks or the blue forks to match the blue bars.

either way ... as b.cal said : cut back some with all the blue stuff on it.

nice frame. wish, i could get one without paying through the nose.

Yeah, I know it's a lot of blue, but that's kind of why the build came together. I had all these blue parts, and they only made sense on this frame! I think once I get decals on the frame, polish it, maybe go with black tires- it will look pretty good. It might break up the blue a little. We'll see!

Its your build my friend, do it as you see fit. Were just giving some outside observations. But it will come together very nice!

Man alot of kids had all blue back in the day.
I had bikes with blue rims, tires and seat etc.
But if the blue seat post doesnt match the blue Bars or seat clamp, then I would go chrome. Man those colors take me back.
Id def use the anodized rims and mongoose forks.
gl with the build.

The seatpost looks much better in person, my camera made it light up like a neon bulb! It's a blue anodised aluminum post. Not as bright in person.
