I was in a bike shop today browing around. The guy used to have a ton of old school stuff, but it's been pretty well picked over. I was looking for a frame for my son's street/trail bike as he has a lot of used stuff in there. I look up & spot a chrome frame w/ a 5" headtube & small gussets. I ask the guy to pull it down hoping it's a Proline. No luck. 5" headtube & gussets, but rear drop outs & a brake bridge that were definately not Redline. Had a set of forks, but they were not Redline either. Ah well, back up it went....

The rear drops had little flanges that capped the ends of the seat & chain stays. Weird. Front end looked like a PL, but the welds, esp in the rear were pretty sloppy.

kastan for instance used to do the opposite of that and have open at the ends not flanges, that's strange
