I posted a few months back about how the 1st Gen Profile cranks on my Floval were ripped right off my bike when I parked it in the Haight/Ashbury district in SF. I'm still real bummed about it to this very day but I finally built it back up again. I decided to go with Bullseye cranks instead and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Thanks to the guys in the Tech and Resto section with helping me on the Bullseye crank installation...

...and here's what it used to look like before some punk stole the Profiles (and Suntour pedals!)...

The "peace-loving hippies" in Haight/Ashbury strike again!

Nice bike, though.

Don't park it any place where you can't see it at all times. I've been known to walk my bike through stores on many occasions. That is a VERY sweet scoot.

Floval's rule!!! I've had a pic on my wall of your bike 4 months now!!!! Sorry about your loss mate. If we did what they do to theives in some countries in Asia(cut off their right hand!) we wouldn't have this problem.....Scotty

Color me jealous--that bike is hot!

Here's something weird, though. I was walking into Cyco on Stanyan in the Haight a few months ago, and I saw this guy with a kind of beat down aluminum Schwinn that didn't seem to be set-up too thoughtfully, shall we say. Front brakes, pegs on the forks, but a race frame and O.G. Profiles. I he was changing a tube in front of the shop...

I was going to talk to him about them...but he seemed kind of shady, so I let it go. It's neither here not there now, but I bet that was the [I tried to curse].

Someone tried to steal the bars off my cruiser parked on Market street a year ago or so. He cut the cable and had two bolts off when someone chased him off. I was in a week long class to become a volunteer HIV counselor. No good deed goes unpunished.

Awesome bike man, truly a gem. I am trying to build a NS/OS Floval modeled very similar to yours.

Don't worry about the A S S that took your cranks, karma will get back at that guy some day! Thanks for sharing you pic's. I have always been a fan of BULLSEYE cranks

Beautiful job! Gotta love the Phil Wood spider with the Bullseyes. Ya don't see that every day.

I have an OM in the works that will have a lot in common with yours. Your photos gave me the kick in the butt needed to send my frame off to the paint booth.

Man Gooser, that story just kills me, I can't even drive past the Haight nowadays without getting pi**ed off.

Anyways, on a lighter note, I'm actually pretty stoked at the way the bike looks now. It was time for a change, it had been built up complete about 3 years ago. The Bullseye cranks are a intereesting design, they're actually quite a bit lighter than the Profiles (and my Profiles even had the ti axle). The current Shimano XTR MTB cranks copied this design (hollow spindle).

Thanks to all you guys for the kind comments. This bike is like my MVP, I dig it more than all my others. It was my first "collectors" bike and started me down the vintage BMX path big time.
