41.............
Think you're the same age as Eddie King!
LOL! (inside joke)
Curt
Reilley1, very possible we met at YC. Are you same age? What bikes did you ride 78-81? What were any of your district numbers? I still have a few of the NBA World newspapers with point standings, I could look you up, Heh heh.

Utterback 44 well OK a 3 year spread I had always thought he was similar age to Stu. (chaulk up another for minister of information) or am I just out of that loop, probably the latter.

Eddie who???
Curt
The few times we raced I got a good look at the back of his jersey as he powered away. LOL

There was an 1980 NBA national or possibly mini-natinal at Van Nuys.

It was filmed on Sunday and was broadcast the next morning on TV.

Anyone know anthing about it?

Man I think the Van Nuys track closed before I got to California.
Look how clean that one riders CyC is. #16X means he musta been a top rider. look how dialed his plate is also. Almost as kool as Kings #1. So who is the rider with 16 on his plate?

Europa Bikes is still open on Van Nuys blvd. Dennis still owns it. Not much BMX stuff for sale anymore......he does have some older trophies still on display though, at least he did the last time I was there.

Europa is on Ventura Blvd just West of Van Nuys Blvd in Sherman Oaks. I was just in there the other day talking to Dennis about selling my 09 SE 24" Quadangle Looptail. On a side note I never got to ride at the Teen Center, but the LAPD found my stolen 1984 Ford Ranger on the track at the Teen Center. True story!

Isn't there an episode of CHiPs filed at the YC? I don't recall racing there, but a childhood friend of mine swears that he and I did race there. I wish I remembered.

No way, were you that little dude that used to race with our little guy on our Team (Magic Mushroom Cyclery)? I'm pretty sure I turned expert at the Van Nuys Track. Fun times, I remember the Gate Guy (your dad) almost disqualified me for Team Riding, I sat down just before the Finish Line so my Team Mate could pass me and get a Trophy. Lol. I loved that Track! The only part I didn't like was that tall jump on the other side of the track, you would get going so fast on the back straight and have to maneuver that. Here's my Facebook Pics of my BMX Pics but none at the Van Nuys Track. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1...9044&type=3
