Some kid, after racing today, shows up at the track on a Blue Max. It's some low dollar operation and he's playing the "look at me jump!" game on the table on the front straight. The f&f were chrome and stickered (which is how I picked it out).
I look at the bike, all looptail and unique dropout, and ask the kid where his Dad's at. Dad was over in his pickup truck, having a smoke and chilling. I tell the Dadster collectors would be all about that bike and he should put it on Ebay. He told me he'd bought it for (dirt) cheap from the scrap dealer he works for (and kind of indicated if it was worth anything he'd just as soon keep it).
The point being, I splained' to him, was to be careful that some guy didn't try to scam it off him on some low ball deal.
Anyway, did I tell the Dad right, is there a big desire for Blue Max's with what appears to be era correct bars and stem? I like to see them poor folk stumble up on good news once in awhile.
(I also brochured Dad and think they'll be racing with us next weekend.)
