I have to admit that he is still one fast dude as he whipped my arse in Columbus at the presidents cup, but he is one helluva nice guy and I am proud to say that as of this weekend in morristown will be sporting HRP plates.
Please find more pictures, I love seeing the old shots. hey johnny how did the scorers jusdge that across the line in the picture you have. Three number ones in that shot. Was that the Trophy dash?

Regarding the frame and forks, they are the exact same forks as what came on my 84 profile pro (I bought it new and they had profile stickers on them out of the box). I was trying to find out more about them, and someone said they look like Robinson (which they do)...However check out the bend at the crown, very similar to GT...I would love to know the background of this fork

That was the Trophy Dash at the 82' Vegas World Championships.
I was 20 feet away when that pic was taken.
If the camera would have shown more to the right, you would have seen Richie Anderson swooping under.
Rich was on at that race! The one main with him and Ellis! EPIC!

Rich and his daughter Taylor are great people. I always knew who Rich was and I suppose he always probably knew who I was but our paths never crossed until the 2005 Christmas Classic in Columbus. I really enjoyed the chats I had with him and Taylor. First class people and I didn't even take into consideration how fast he still is.

Rich is still fast... & a pretty cool guy I might add.

Thanks guys/Deanna for all the kind words.
Johnny that first picture still gets me mad to this day. I had that race and just screwed up. I would have to say if I could race one race over it would be that trophy dash.

Rich,
The very best, most exciting mains at the 82' Vegas Jag Worlds were the ones you were in. That main you won with you and Ellis was absolutely unreal.
You're a true champion in BMX. No one can ever take that away from you.

Congrats to Rich on his factory Felt deal. Rich is looking for a Worlds win this summer at the UCI Worlds.

Johnny,
I may be wrong but that pic above is not Waterford Oaks. The IBMXF International Race was held at the Pontiac Silverdome, never at Waterford Oaks.
Waterford later held the UCI Worlds during the 90's.
If I had to guess that pic is from the IBMXF International race in Dayton Ohio.
The Huffy Sponsor is the giveaway. They were located in Dayton, Ohio at the time. I remember when Phyllis and some of the execs had the road bike team ride the track. Big crashes from roadies trying to jump the first straight away. That lady was a crazy old kook for sure.
Very cool pic though.

LOL Shannon!
I had to do it. You know he shouldn't be giving the wrong history, it might confuse the viewers.
The bad thing is I'm not even sure it's Dayton but I am certain it's not Waterford! I was in Dayton for the International race so it seemed the most logical when he mentioned Huffy as a sponsor.
It was good to see you too Shannon, I'm assuming you'll be in Rockford? I was actually going to wish you a happy birthday when I heard it announced. That was a good one, glad I didn't fall for it completely!
The SX crew was having fun watching you wear a path in the cement from walking to the ABA Trailer to the track and moto board. At the very least it was entertainment watching you work up a sweat.
See ya soon mate and thanks for all the hard work you and the rest of the ABA crew put in at nationals to give us a top notch event.

I was wrong! Hahahaha!
I got it mixed up. Here's why.
The Huffy IBMXF Worlds were held in Dayton Ohio on July 24th and 25th 1982.
The next major race was one month later August 31, 1982.
The race was the Schwinn, Jag, Thom McAn, 7- Eleven, and Coca Cola
ABA national at Waterford Oaks BMX track in Pontiac Michigan.
Mixed up the cities cause after Dayton, the next big race was Waterford. My bad!
Kinda like mixing up Saphire's and Spearmint Rhino
when you're in Vegas....... cough cough
