Hey man, I am like 45 minutes away in FEMA trailer and blue roof ridden Biloxi. I tell ya, there is NO scene anywhere around here. Biloxi has a pretty nice skatepark but bikes arent allowed. All the half way decent street rides along highway 90 on the beach are either destroyed or covered in debris.
Feel free to look me up anyways...

Hi Alex, Baton Rouge has a nice BMX track that is open most nights(BREC BMX Raceway). It is located on Perkins Rd. off of the Essen exit(I-10). There is also a velodrome next to it. If you want more street action try the downtown area...check out Louisianabmx.com for more details. Oh yeah, in my home town of Lafayette there is a skate/bike park by the name of Buck Nuttys. Not sure what their hours are for bikes though....I'm sure N.O. has plenty of riding....you just have to find it!

hey there masterstint.wow,i posted this topic almost a year ago.and its weird that its come back around.um,the photo that you are speaking of,if you were speaking of the "photos of us jumping" thread were taken in a park in the area of gentilly where i played baseball as a kid.there was a random mound in the middle of the field that we worked on a bit and it was great.the park was called milne playground.i grew up not too far from there in lower gentilly, down franklin ave. a ways if you are familiar w/that area.we actually lived in n.o. east in my mid teens, where we built this great track where there was a suberb built later until katrina came along.from what i hear it ravaged n.o. east.i haven't been out to the east since i moved here to s.f. 15 years ago.keep in touch.

Ha!...the Pass is GONE!!! In fact, they still don't let people go down to Henderson Point. I havent even been past Long Beach to see whats left in the Pass.
Biloxi on the other hand is growning, and building by leaps and bounds. Bush was just here to survey the progress...I'll bet he wishes New Orleams was just as productive.
Yes the beaches are cleaned up and there are plenty of good places to eat again. Hit me up if you pass through.

Biloxi!! I need to come over there and visit too...That was one of my favorite places...Only two hours away from the beach...I am in Baton Rouge, I hope yall are doing well over on the coast!! GOD it was Beautiful over there before the hurricane, I know they say they are going to build it up better than before, but you can never get all of those old 1800 houses back that lined the beachfront!!! That really sucks...But good luck, if I am ever in the area I will hit you up!! Jason

THATS IT!!! You hit the nail on the head. I am tired of hearing local leaders say how much better its going to be. Their idea of better is shoulder to shoulder condos like Florida has. The victorian mansions and ancient moss draped oaks will never be replaced. If I think about it too hard, I seriously bum myself out.
You guys...my door is always open.
