Just had their grand opening Monday. I went there tonight to see what I would find on their wall.
Black Mongoose with Red Tuffs, 1pc. cranks, red ano V-bars, etc. Nothing too special.

A Mongoose with tuff wheels and V-bars is exactly what the mases walking through that place will recognize. Fits the bill if you ask me.

Better to crucify an intermediate Mongoose for the masses to enjoy as decoration in a public eatery , than nailing a bike to the wall thats _really_ rare & will have the militia hatching plans to "rescue" it.....
<ducking for cover>
As long as it wasn't one of those cool looking black chrome frames that the Mongoose team guys were racing here in the early 1980's , I can live with the sacrifice.
<still laying low>
There's a probably a lot of Mongoose owners out there that will disagree with my thoughts , just think it over a few times before you strike the igniter & discharge the flammable liquid in my direction....& remember that I can help you identify & bypass most electronic & mechanical security devices

Any vintage bmx should NOT be on some half fast Restruant chains wall. When I find one on the wall worth playing with johnny law I'll rescue it ! There is a Redline MX II or III near my house. I pull no punches and will take no prisoners. Signed the East coast bike militia ! AKA ROB I can bypass anything with charm or skill !!! I have a Masters in B.S. slinging. Let me know where there is a sling shot on the wall IT'S MINE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sold them my re-pop Goose. It makes me happy that they won't wreck a real Goose.

Bike hung properly in TGIF = 500 exposures to BMX per day x 365 days per year = 180,000 who see that bike.
Maybe 5 or 10 of those people will dust off the old bike in thier garage and put it on ebay for huntcart or maybe one of us to buy it.
Maybe another 5 or 10 decide to take up the sport for the first time, wouldn't it be cool to have an ABA flyer somewhere in the restaurant?
I'm all for keeping these bikes in tip top conditon and it sucks when they mount it to the wall incorrectly, but the post from BMXHACKSAW says nothing about improper display / mounting.
I'm also all for exposure to the sport I love and participate in, BMX Racing, and anything which furthers the sport is GOOD in my eyes.

Here in Rockford they just remodeled the TGIF. I haven't been to check it out, but I had told a buddy about the bmx / huntcart thing, and he ended up going there to eat. He reported that there is a chrome GT hanging on the wall. He didn't know the model, and couldn't elaborate on the parts on it.
