I don't know if these are Cook Bros. cranks, or if Cook Bros. cranks are desirable, but
this bike seems to have sold for pretty cheap!

Yes, but they are the tapered kind, not as desirable, although the buyer is a bmx big dog.

All the Cook Bros cranks I've seen over the years have been for square taper spindle. Did they make another type?

he means tapered crank arms not spindle, they did it presumably to save weight

Hmmm, they all seem to have a bit of a taper to the arm size going from the axle end to the pedal end, some more than others. The light weight ones were the 'RSR' model that had the backsides hollowed out. The 'CBR' model were not hollowed. This was sometime around the early '90s on the mountain bike cranks, if I remember right.
