If anyone has July 81 BMXA, on page 29 AERO ad. Look at RL's SE fork. The bologna cut is on the side and has non leading axle dropouts. Anyone ever seen these in person? Broke out the mags and they caught my eye. No scanner.

I remember seeing that add back in '81. My buddies and I figured it must have been a custom, one-off to quicken the steering for "trick" riding.
SE Mark
Are the forks the old CyclePro forks that where used before Landing Gear?
DaveC
The tubing size etc is same as landing gear jus tthe cut on the bottom is positioned diff. and the dropouts look like GJS dropouts.

I've got that issue, and was thinking the same thing when I ran across that ad. I've got some free time tomorrow, I'll try and get it out, and scan that and post it.

Think about this...

At the time, SE and GJS were 1/2 a block apart on 28th st. in Signal Hill Ca.

Not to add any speculation or anything...

Yesssssss ..
pk ripped
Is that the ad with John Crews? I love that ad, RLs PK looks killer.

Was this still the case in early 1984? If so, now each company's first gen. freestyler makes sense.

i'm glad this topic was started, a few years ago i went into a bike shop that has been in business for over 50yrs and spyed a se recumbunt bike with a set of landing gear lites on it i told the owner i was interested in the forks and he said he may have a set in the back. after digging around he brought out 3 sets of forks he said were se 1 with lighting holes and 2 without, he said he used to buy all his forks from se because they did great work. i took one set and stripped the paint and to my surprise a old oval redline stamp was on the steer tube, so i checked the other set with with no lighting holes and they were also redline, the set with lighting holes is se, the main difference between them is the race support is thicker on the se model. anyone ever here of redline making forks like this.

No-way, Redline Landing Gear, thats so cool...

If there the real deal (and the stamp looks real), I would think that they could be worth some serious $ to the right person. Ive never seen them before...
HOMER
they look legit to me, i thought i scored 3 sets of lg lites and 2 turned out to be rl... go figure.. i'm sure somebody knows something about them.

I don't remember exactly when SE moved to Paramount. but even still they were just up the road and I worked at SE as a welding foreman (85) before I went to Mcdonnell Douglas.

GJS and SE had a pretty incestual relationship.

In a good way. LOL!
